If you notice, JK is the one in the end that says 'I'm ready to let go' and I found it so heartbreaking that he heads in one direction, apart from the rest of the members while the others walk away in the other direction. ALSO, the fact that the members don't turn to look at him even though he somewhat lingers, looking at their back before going on his own way. What a heartwrenching emotion, what an agony to look at the back of someone you love so much just to see them walking away. We always look at the back of someone, if you think about it. When we are still kids, at the back of our parents as they lead us home or as they take our hands. At the back of a sibling if we ride on a motorcycle and we trust them with our lives. At the back of a lover during vacation or even a first date when they lead us somewhere beautiful. But there's nothing as painful as looking at the back of someone that we can no longer follow.

It's not one that plays for me often but weirdly when it does come on its at a time I really need the message. It's a unique song where I feel like BTS is talking directly to me when I listen to it. And the way the intensity of this song BUILDS. I swear BTS have never not sung their hearts out when performing this song. Whether its in the studio or on stage they leave nothing behind, and you can definitely say that for any BTS track, but this one feels personal and raw when they do it. So glad you listened and enjoyed it.

2023-08-04 10:02:37 +0000 UTCThanks for the shout out guys!!! It made my week! ‘Let Go’ Choreography ramble 2cents 0-2:10 from original Bangtan Bomb Contemporary Dance, what is it? This!… “Let Go” But Google says; a style of expressive dance combining genres of modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. And I agree. An experienced and educated dancer can embrace contemporary well. Reason a 5 year olds first dance class is not contemporary, it’s ballet or jazz to get good foundation. That aside, these seven experienced and trained dancers are creating a mixed media art or mixed genre. I tried to look at the complete work with fresh eyes. Putting aside what I know about BTS’s story, lyrics, and personalities. From the beginning moment starts with isolations of the hand, their bodies change levels and then isolating the head by looking/searching. Though these are simple isolated movements their posture and facing makes it all work harmoniously. Tilted shoulders in toward JK when he sings to bring focus. There is a lot going on already. Kind of like a kaleidoscope, spokes coming out of JK’s body, it’s balanced. Jared you said “symmetry.” As Jimin sings they spread slightly. Why does he need more room to speak than JK? As Jimin sings his last note of his first vocal part there is a canon from the outside in (starting movement at different times). The canon is quick and takes lots of focused rehearsal to perfect. This choreography tool can be used in any genre of dance. RM enters and things get a little militant. They turn into puppets (notice Suga and Jimin here). Think “No Strings Attached” by Nsync. It’s robotic and I never noticed this before but when they recover they beat their heart, like their coming alive again. The life was taken out and now being recharged. Now things get simple they just walk it out. Just be human. Walking backward and looking over their shoulder. This could be a look at the past one more time to make room for the future ahead. Suga, brings a new energy, element of hip hop. There is a bounce now and a very close group of people. Though Jhope is on a knee they all do the same movement. Separation happens. Why? These two groups go to opposite ends and make different shapes of grief. As Suga finishes they turn their back on each other. Musicality: BTS are pros! As a team they must count their music in the same way, yes dancers are musicians too. Moving as a representation of Jin’s lyrics. The expression is lyrical because of the details all the way through the fingers. Modern Dance: because they incorporate their torso contracting in emotion as the movement goes through the arms and hands. The chorus. Here is where training really shines. I like watching V on this part. He is very expressive while moving through the shapes, the smooth transitions. What makes transitions work seamlessly is the bend in his knees and the direction of his toes. Statistically Ballet is very even, balanced, upright. Modern, brings a human experience with change of levels and abstract shapes. Jazz, characterized and sharp. Add the relationship they have to the lyrics and you sum up this section. V punctuates each movement and all the in-between parts are breathtaking because of how efficient he is with his feet. It’s fluid, storytelling and strong. Both of his arms work together even if it’s not the dominate hand reaching out to the audience, the other side of his body completes the picture. “Gotta let you know”: This part looks like ocean waves. The first three steps back are level. The next two change tempo but become turbulent. Some members go high some go low to create bigger waves. It’s really beautiful visually. The instrumental end of the chorus is cathartic. Sharp percussive movement like they are furiously writing words on paper. The thigh rub? I see that as erasing, wiping something clean. Not only is the right hand sliding up the inside of the thigh, the left is doing the opposite action and sliding down the arm. This section ends with them dropping to the floor, a release bounce in the knees. It’s done. In the end it’s one giant breath of fresh air. Sigh of release of tension. Human connection and separation. ‘Let Go’ is a memorable piece of choreography. Art, what they do well.

Think the beautiful vocals associated with the Japanese songs with a much more upbeat (edm like) beat. It's another masterpiece. Wishing on A Star, Lights, and Good Day are some of my absolute favorites though 💜. In other words, you can't go wrong with any song you choose 😂.

I thought if you liked JK doing a thigh rub then you would love Let Go. Other Japanese songs I love are Lights, I like it part 2, Don't Leave Me, For you and Good Day.

"Painful Comfort" indeed, Jared. I love the choro for this song, it's so damn fast and so expressive. I am in awe every single time, even as I wanna cry. As for any significance to the song... I think it cannot be ignored that while Hiro, Jun, Sunny Boy, & Uta wrote "Let Go", [not BTS et al], I think it is meaningful that "Let Go", "Don't Leave Me", were both released in 2018. If it is true that we are hearing about their feelings at the moment, then the inclusion of these tracks, even though no member of BTS participated in the lyrics or production, I believe, speaks to their collective mindsets at the time. Then you have "Outro: Tear", for which the rap line has both writing and production credits, also released in 2018, when BTS was struggling, and were considering disbanding. They were preparing themselves for the worst/ telling the story of those hard choices. That they managed to find some balance and continue in the face of such challenges at their young ages is our great fortune, and to my mind, something of a miracle. As for which of the Japanese Originals to explore next, since you already looked at my all-time favorite way back in January, "Your Eyes Tell", I'm going to suggest "Wishing on a Star"; it's a sweet and hopeful song. That said, "Lights" is such a testament to the power of friendship, it really should not be overlooked. Both songs are heartwarming in their meaning, and as always, the members' voices are perfection. -Mac-

Although JK is my bias and after that V if always feel sorry that the maknaes are in the focus for 80% of all the performances. I lately watches some old concerts and RM is just so good. The way he vibes and feels himself on stage is incredible and Grandpa Suga just had some hot moments, too.

2023-08-02 07:01:42 +0000 UTCI absolutely LOVE that you men are not afraid to call other men sexxxxxaaayyyy and react to those thigh rubs as you did. That's called security and I love it. I agree with Jordan in the beginning that Jimin stole this performance, and for the reasons you noted. His contemporary background lends well to these intricate choreo's and yes the way he hits a little harder or rather he's very good at those staccato movements with his body especially when there are many different ones in a short series, he always nails them all to perfection. And again that's not to take away from the others, but there is just something different about Jimin doing them. I'm not going to say that it also could be a certain "bias" I have (hehehe). But V definitely has really strong moments too, especially when he was centered. I think you could really feel his performance. I'm not sure if you have ever noticed, but I'd encourage you to sometimes pay attention to how Jimin moves across the stage during choreo's. I'm sure this is done on purpose, because Jimin can somehow float across a very large portion of their spacing in a short period of time and when there is a long distance to go, the choreographers often give that to Jimin. I've always loved the BTS choreography because it doesn't go easy and the amount of movement and changing of places sometimes even in a very tight formation is mesmerizing to me, but sometimes I watch Jimin go from one end of the formation to the other end in 2 to 3 steps and he will add a turn sometimes so that it fits with the timing, it's just really incredible to watch, and Let Go was one of those moments for me. My advice is to just try to erase expectation out of your mind when it comes to BTS, because you guys say that it was not what you were expecting a lot, which is honestly wonderful, because I'm sure that is their aim. It's no fun when we see/hear exactly what we expected. I think it is one BTS strengths is to always try something different and never be stagnant, one of the reasons I think this solo venture they are on will only enhance when they come back together. Of course, I'm kind joking about erasing expectations because honestly we all have them, it's hard to empty our minds of them. Borahae 💜💜💜

V may not have as much background in dancing as some of the others, but he is a natural and top tier performer, from his movement, to his emotions, to his facial expressions. And, he catches on quickly! This past weekend, he got on stage and performed a tiny bit of choreo to “seven” with jk on inkigayo. Army was so excited, they went nuts lol 😆 oh! There’s another Japanese song of theirs I like called “don’t leave me”. There’s not much content so just check it out on your own I guess lol

Mah FAVE brothers, you may have not come across that this song was done around the time that they were thinking of disbanding. So it was thought to be the last letter to ARMY as RM's lyrics said. Just thinking about the struggles they were facing at the time broke my heart whenever I hear this song 🥹🤧 At the time, they needed a break. The boys were faking happiness as they were struggling. So they needed to leave. They wanted to do this for not only themselves, but ARMY too. That's just what gets me every time I hear this 🥺 However, five years later they're still with us and I'm thankful that they came thru and stayed with us 😊💜 Soooo let's enjoy the THIGH GRABS! Lol 😅 I agree that V stole this choreo. You know that ALLURING look at Tae's face whenever he dances, his gaze, his eyes that would just catch you off guard! I swear I just squealed like J&J during that close up of thigh grabs too. I had been a fan of BTS for a while already before I first heard it, but I definitely found it at the exact right time, when I needed it most. It just evokes such emotion 💜 (And yes Jared, "I gotta let you know that I need to let you go" is also one of my fave lines from their songs) And I agree it was pretty surprising to find that it has choreography, and I love it! Choreography with some beautiful imagery. I agree Jimin, especially in that last part of the song, always captivates me - when he points, gives that look straight on, then turns, ahhhhh!

Sometimes the song itself sings of pain and sorrow, but his expressiveness draws me into the world of the song. And Jin overcomes his sorrow and makes us feel the strength and healing in his singing voice to sublimate the sadness.

I love this song. It's so well done. I heard their Japanese songs are top tier, an it makes sense. Your Eyes Tell truly is my love tbh but Let Go is up there now. I haven't listen to all their Japanese songs but I need to now. I hope all is well Jared & Jordan. Also their moves are like telling a story. My favorite parts was the one mentioned of Jin an the end with JK. The one with Jin felt like i have to go but do I really want to? And I agree with Jared that V stood out in this performance. The close-up on that thigh grab is some ridiculous camera skills 😂 😂 I’m so happy you decided to react to this even if it didn’t win the poll. Like I said before, their Japanese songs are masterpieces. PS: your reactions on those thigh grabs are just hilarious 😆 Same way I reacted when i saw them the first time.

I would really like to have a talk with Jin Yoongi and Namjoon, cause how can they say they aren't good dancers when this choreo (and more) exist? Like if this is someone who doesn't know how to dance then I would like to suck as much as them. Anyway thank you as always for these reactions boys, Jordan mentioned the length of the videos and let me tell you, I much prefer your 2h long deep dives than any superficial 10-minute reaction you can find on youtube. I sometimes go back and rewatch your longer videos only because they bring me a kind of comfort only a small amount of things do. So thank you so much for always being yourselves.

2023-08-01 22:50:57 +0000 UTCNo Jorden don´t go on the V wagon hehe. for me there was no one better than Jimin in this performance. this style of dance was made for him. that popping movements and slick and smooth movements is just perfect. V is more the entertaining dancer more hip hop types idk how to describe it. Jimin to me is alluring i always have hard time not looking at him when he dance so i often have to use the focused fancams to watch all of them. and each members have a certain style of dance they fit into like jimin was for black swan and mic drop was J-hopes baby. there is also one for RM but i can´t remember what song it was but for the first time he bias wrecked me in dancing. witch is hard to do. he usually slay in his manliness and deep rapping voice he is just a sexy man hehe. each member bias wreck me in different ways. but Jimin is just amazing and this dance is my favorite he did. also fake love and blood sweat and tears.

I've listened to it multiple times since I became Army and it is touching. But it just reminds me that one day they will let go and we'll have to deal with it. It's like our breakup song. 💔 And that's why now I never play it. 😔

They incorporated elegant hand gestures and graceful body movements, often emphasizing the emotions conveyed in the lyrics. The choreography is characterized by an enormous blend of contemporary dance elements so thats probablythe reason why Jimin stuck out so much for both of you and it also includes a lot if Lyrical dancing (thatll be like implifying your words or well ur lyrics by moves for ex. when RM says "My last letter" you see all of them doing a hand movement where they are writing a letter ✍️, or another ex. When you see each of them many times reaching for another member with their hands hence I will Let you Go but its still one of the hardest decisions made, or when they say the "Stereo and Mono" part when singing Stereo they look up staright ahead but then for Mono they look down and put their heads on their hands etc....) And so yeah as I have already mentioned I choes this song on a Dance Competition last year to do and its honestly such a Memorable moment for me so I hold this song soooo dear to my heart. I honestly cant put to words all the meanings to this AMAZINg Choreographie cuz I would need to write soo many pages to just start describing every beautiful little intricacy!And just finally to end it off at the Complete end of the song you see all the members going in one same direction Except for Jungkook who was indeed the last one to sing saying "I am Ready to Let Go" as you see him holding out his hand one last time before dropping it and going the opposite direction from all the other Members showcasing that by the end of the song THEY have finally fully accepted it after all the "trying to hold on a bit longer" during the full Choreographie of the Song until that very last Moment. Which leaves us with a beautiful yet honestly heartbreaking acceptance from all the members by the end of the Choreo :) 🫠😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨 Welp, that was long😭But for bts to create a visually captivating performance that resonates with the song's sentiment🤌🗣 I will forever be grateful for that🫶🫶 Anww really enjoyed this one guysss I love uuu😊💜💜💜 (Ps: J&J I just started moving a bit again after the accident this morning and took a walk :) So there is PROGRESS but yeah hopefully that means I can get back to dancing sometime in the near future 🫡🫶) Love u💜

Just play it anywhere anytime to cheer me up. I lost my mom weeks ago and as a 17 year old that has been my worst dream. Now I have to be the mom of my house being the only girl and that is such a big responsibility. I’ve been coping little by little and like I said earlier, “ Let go” being my comfort song has got me through this. Things might not be the best right now but ik I got this.
