It's one of my favorite songs by bts to the point that I remember the exact moment I first heard it and it made me immediately go onto ebay and buy a copy of this album just so I could physically own the song lol. (It was my first bts album, too! π) I love the comparison they all draw between the sweetness levels of coffee drinks vs relationships and I'm so glad that you liked the song and that you played the original and that radio performance since I had never seen/heard it before. Also, if you watch the Interlude: Shadow" music video 'O!RUL8,2?' logo is also seen towards the mid-end of the song, just around when the beat changes. I love when BTS does that!!! same with Jhopes "ego" and the intro to "2 cool 4 skool".

For example, you are yet to discover one of my favourite bangtan: Latin Pop Bangtan! π A few things you might've have missed, all about intertextuality: Listen carefully to the beat of Intro O!RUL82?, it's what Suga sampled for Interlude: Shadow, like j-hope did for Ego sampling the Intro to the previous album, 2 Cool 4 Skool! A section of the next intro (Intro Skool Luv Affair) will also be sampled to create RM's Intro: Persona. Just another reason why the MOTS series is so goated. Also, on the topic of Intro: Skool Luv Affair, make sure to listen to the first few seconds of instrumental in Outro: Luv in Skool before you start listening to Skool Luv Affair's intro.. You'll see the continuity with the beat. It's amazing.

I just appreciated that BTS were special and wanted to reward their talent & hard work by purchasing their songs that I liked. I soon realised I liked, and I mean loved, each of their songs so switched to buying albums - as it was obvious there were enough good tracks to warrant an album purchase. Even still, I was shocked that every single song was so good. When it came to their debut album, I remember thinking what foresight it was for Big Hit and BTS to produce such quality from the outset. These stand the test of time, serving as fitting introduction to BTS. Kudos to them for having this faith in themselves which has been proven right.

2023-05-21 08:31:39 +0000 UTCReliving this era through your reactions, I suddenly remembered the times when I went into K-pop shops and struggled to find any BTS merch because they were so unpopular. It's so insane to recall those moments now that we're in 2023. It was so hard for them to get onto any variety show, and they were looked down upon, often cast to the sides and not acknowledged. Twitter was like a battlefield, other fandoms belittled us all the time, they gave BTS black oceans and middle fingers every time they came on stage. Bad things trended year after year. It was also revealed later that they were often not given waiting rooms and had to do their make-up and practice in front of public bathrooms. Other idols looked down and sneered at them, as confirmed by music show staff and a WayV member who recalled how diligent they were despite all of that. But what is incredible, is that they always found a way to overcome it. They started their own low-budget varieties, chose to post logs on YouTube to connect with fans, they've truly created a new standard and culture for the Korean entertainment industry. It was after BTS succeeded that people started posting behind the scenes, creating their own variety shows, posting group photos after schedules, using lots of backup dancers for dance formations etc. Even the lightsticks, they were the first to have Bluetooth central connected lightsticks that could change colour and form patterned formations during concerts. BTS was also the first to put English subtitles on their MVs. It was also very rare for groups to incorporate story-telling/plots in their MVs like continuing puzzles, they usually chose to put only choreography to catch attention. But BTS, despite not being popular and having low budget, was not afraid of trying and it led them to their first success in 2015 with 'I need you'. It's hard to illiterate how incredible this journey is. Even now, they've chosen a completely different method of enlistment. Other groups enlist one by one, only when they've reached the age limit, but BTS chose to all go at almost once and be back in the same year. This is unheard of. Because they want to be back as a team, so even though members like Jungkook/Jimin/Tae technically still have many years until they reach the enlistment age, they chose to enlist this year/early next year. Because they truly put the team first and truly believe that they're the best when they're all together

We would sing the Bare Naked Ladies song "If I Had a Million Dollars" and we would take turns filling in the end of the line...If I had a million dollars, I would buy you a........". The kids would come with some hilarious options through the years, especially after they got older and more sarcasticπ€£ Jimin is well known for his "eye smile". Several of the guys drink Iced Americanos. I believe espresso is thicker than regular coffee, therefore it would drip down slower. Thanks for another indepth reaction

Th3se two πΏ CDs live in my car. RM'S INTRO is such a powerful message and the whole CD is a bop, banger, and feel good that will elevate anyone's mood. BTS was brilliant from the jump. I cringe when some people say things like "BTS really grew from their early years". No! BTS was hip, cool, soulful, talented from day one deep deep roots were always there. Thay never changed the bloomed. HOBI'S LOLLAPALOOZA, SUGA'S D-DAY, JIMIN'S FACE, and RM'S INDIGO are pure OG BTS. πππππππ

Breaking down βCoffeeβ shows just how much you compliment each other. Jared you feel the nuanced sensual elements of the music while Jordan you pick up the heart of the lyrics which is that βcoffee β references are used to describe the ending of a relationship which has memories of the sweetness in the beginning but leaves a bitter taste when itβs over. I think youβre right that we rely heavily on relationships and we leave it open to the possibility of reuniting because once you say itβs over, thereβs really no going back from that. Thereβs a finality in that. (Expresso is made with hot water under pressure in a special machine and served in 1 to 2 ounce cups. Americano is Expresso topped up with hot water to dilute it. Both are usually served black and are very strong, sometimes leaving a bitter aftertaste). Unlike any other group, BTS structures their albums and solo mixtapes to be listened to in order from top to bottom and they seamlessly flow telling a story, sonically and lyrically. I feel that Yoongi has a distinctive, direct style, using few words to craft his lyrics. He can have the most beautiful, romantic (Just One Day), the rawest, cutthroat (Agust D, Cypher 3), heartbreaking (First Love, Like (I Like It) and hopeful (The Last, NEVERMIND) verses and songs that I didnβt fully appreciate before. I just bought this album and I love it completely. The Intro should be a philosophy for living your life. Maybe ask your dad not if he had a happy life but rather is he having and living a happy life because we all go through trying times , thatβs what life is. Though I think you forgot to go through the physical album as part of your album review, You have a copy of O!RUL8,2?, but you still haven't looked through it yet. You also haven't looked through your 2 Cool 4 Skool album yet either, which is the other album you've listened to already. I'd also like to make a suggestion for future albums. Why not start with doing the album reactions first (instead of the other way around with the songs first and then the album), with just listening to the lyric videos? Then do additional separate reactions afterwards, for the songs you're interested in doing a more complete deep dive into? You'll be able to better decide which songs deserve an additional reaction, based on which ones you liked after the first listen. And speaking of lyric videos, please use the color-coded ones, so you can see which member is singing or rapping. Without that, it can sometimes be hard to tell which member it is. Enjoy BTS More and AF Taehyung are 2 good YouTube channels to find lyric videos.
