Listening to this song was an incredibly powerful (and therapeutic) experience. Suga masterfully employed the metaphor of a piano to explore themes of passion, loss, and rediscovery. This song is about SOOOOO much more than just a piano.
To our beautiful mother, Kristen: It has been 9+ years since you passed, and we still think about you every day. If we could go back in time, we would thank you for the thousands of delicious homemade meals you made for us, give you at least 100 hugs per day, and tell you just how much WE LOVE YOU.

I'm late with this comment, but this song is why I originally became absolutely entranced by Yoongi's music. Ppl often say he is cold or distant, some even claim he has no emotions. But to create music like this, imagine how in touch with your emotions you have to be. This song makes me incredibly sad and overjoyed at the same time. Yoongi is a genius when it comes to writing music. I'm so happy he went against his parents' wishes years ago and continued to create his art. I just hope he knows how many people he has helped and healed through his lyrics and songs.

If tears come to my eyes but don't leave my eyes I consider it "tearing up" or "welling up" but not crying. Both are emotional, but not the same thing. But I often spend way too much time thinking of pedantic use of language like that haha. Was not expecting you to bring that side of me out during this reaction.

I believe the piano you see SUGA sitting in front of in the Wings tour live performance and the First Love Wings story is the same model - the model piano he used as a child. It's the brown piano he's talking about - not the exact same one, but its the model he used and remembers. If I find where he talks about it, or is mentioned in an article, I'll return to share the links!

It is part of a 7 film promotion for the Wings album back in 2016 - there’s one for each member. The BU is alternative universe storyline of the guys that begins with HYYH Pt 1 album & I Need U (released in 2015j) mv that runs as an underlying theme through multiple albums & songs. Wings album (which First Love is a part of) also brings in themes from the book Demian about good & evil to give the briefest & highest level explanation. The BU & Wings storyline is very sad, very tragic, and very hard to explain in text as it’s story is told thru multiple songs/mvs as well as books, blog posts, mobile games, short films, and concert videos (You saw one at Yoongi’s show that tied back to the HYYH era & BU - the lighter as well as clips from previous MVs). XCeleste has a great summary on her channel for when you want to start diving in that… Personally the whole story broke me. Had me sobbing when you dive into it in full. I can’t wait for you to dive into the BU. 💜

2023-04-27 21:45:53 +0000 UTCWhen I first got into BTS, I didn't understand how people could be so closed minded about them and label their music as just Kpop, or dismiss them as being just a boyband and not even give their music a chance. I went through all the BTS albums and eventually made my way into the rapline members' music. It was only then that I realized how close-minded I had been my whole life when it came to rap. Now, I not only love rap, but have started to listen to other genres that I never gave a chance because of this experience.
