“Indigo” is a project that will certainly live long like a quiet meadow. The Album Magazine Film introduced us to a whole new layer of context and understanding. Seeing each of the artists featured on “Indigo” share their praise and commendation for RM made us appreciate and respect RM even more than we already do.
Aside from his sincerity and open-mindedness, RM has the rare ability to identify/assemble artists who will achieve his creative vision, and then push them beyond their own creative boundaries.
Following the Album Magazine Film, we decided to dig into the Doolset lyrics for 3 of the tracks:
“All Day”
“Hectic”
“Wildflower”
Given the vast amount of Indigo-related content that has been released, we will definitely need to loop back around to the rest at some point in the new year. However, LIVE PERFORMANCES coming next.

I can't get through the song without being hit with a tsunami of emotions because the lyrics are relatable, yet make me feel so distant from Namjoon. It makes me think of all the emotions and experiences he's expressing that we can't fully understand and relate to without being in his position, yet he crafted such a poetic masterpiece we all can lean on in times of need even if we can't truly understand, and I think this really embodies how selfless he is as a person. I think this song in particular is going to get me through their time in the military. The lyrics, "I'll return someday" have been particularly comforting.

That's why it's a "flowerwork" not "firework" which "shines" in the sky?

Their latest album came out then and Namjoon recommended some songs on his insta, and I really liked them, so I got a ticket for one of their concerts in February :)

I'm not sure if that's a twin thing but every time I listen to you both, it becomes more evident. I can however, for the most part tell your voices apart. I've tried listening to you guys at times without the visuals and there is a distinctive tone there. This album seems timeless to me. It will definatley resonate with people today, tomorrow and for many generations to come. RM was 100% intentional with every lyric, every sound , every featured artist and producers. He knew what he wanted to convey about himself and how he wanted to tell his story and he did just that. I am so proud of him 💜. Thank you for this Jared and Jordan. You guys are the best. Love you both💜💜 Im already antisipating the special announcement🤗.

I love that you guys touched on not just the song meanings, but your takeaways from hearing about Joon's process in forming this album and collaborating with different artists, as well as what other artists had to say about him. Joon said in a different interview that he wanted to make sure there was a real relationship with each featuring artist, and it really shows. I knew you guys would like learning about Namjoon himself and how he thinks and works. This is what astonished me about Indigo...10 very different songs, affecting me emotionally in 10 different ways, and leaving me more deeply aware that I had depths of myself to discover. Change Part 2 and Lonely made me look rapidly...fast...with a quick awareness of two different sides of me. Hectic had me paralyzed. Yun stroked my spiritual awareness with a crispness but piercing me with a double edge sword at the same time. Nam-joon knows his music and how to pair the right artists with the right songs. He is truly gifted...a genius. He went to the OGs and produced another masterpiece representative of the artists featured on Indigo. No looking back now for the best is yet to come. I'm blown away! First J-Hope, then Jin and Jung-kook, and now RM!!! I hope my heart and mind can take Suga, V, and Jimin. This album will be around fir decades. It's like a fine wine it mellows and gets better with age. OT7 💜 x7

Rather than being morbid, I think RM was being honest - when he pondered/thought about/imagined his musical career back before it had even really started, he imagined and hoped it might turn out a certain way - namely that he'd achieve a certain amount of Fame and success, and then he'd move on from BTS and it would be over, but it would have been a beautiful and pleasing end (maybe the "beautiful fall" of a firework that's burning out and disappearing?). Of course, we all know how much unexpected fame and success came to them instead, and how much anguish and confusion it caused them for a while, especially in 2018 which is shortly after RM said he first started wanting to write this song.

2022-12-21 09:34:48 +0000 UTCJust wanted to comment that while RM is fluent in English, his English isn't perfect. You can hear this a lot in English interviews when he's less rehearsed sometimes. So the lines "yesterday was a hectic," and "Just one another heaven," feel like they're flawed English to me. Maybe some of the syntactical quirks of Korean have been incorrectly carried over in a literal translation to English. So the lines just mean "Yesterday was hectic" or "Yesterday was a hectic day," and imagining a perfect calm day that only involves "one another" (maybe RM and his S.O.?) would be his idea of heaven. If you imagine a comma (Just one another, heaven) it flows a little better. Just my thoughts and i might be wrong.

I feel like sometimes people think "writing" a song automatically equals lyrics (when the BTS members are typically in charge of that aspect). It was a hard time reckoning but it opened the door for other idols too. Life repeats itself but with different choices. Why not do both? Why not be both? Acceptance of self is maturity. This is what Wild Flower is about... as the picture in the video flips he declares again the opening lines... now it is more peaceful because of the reckoning. All is well.

2022-12-21 02:00:26 +0000 UTCi really love the idea that a wildflower bloom in seasons. they sleep but always return that´s how BTS and RM is right now, and RM even says before the corous that he will return someday. i think he also thought of that. and he chose purple flowers to both symbolize indigo and army. he will "sleep" among all the other normal people in the world and go of like a flowerwork when it´s time to shine again.
