Today's video is a continuation of a reaction video that we posted on our YouTube channel, where we listen to “FILTER” for the first time and dive into the song’s lyrics! If you haven't already seen that video, go check it out now and then come back. We'll be waiting for you…
A few takeaways from our extended reaction:

3. Each member of BTS wants nothing more than to see every other member succeed. This was evident in the members’ reactions to Jimin’s Live performance!

Map of the Soul ON:E concert was during the pandemic and was therefore a fully online concert. So a couple of the boys individual stages were pre recorded and they showed the recorded video of that stage during that slot of the concert since there was no live audience in front of them when they were performing. So Jimin stopped and changed his suit at that part and they edited the 2 sections together for when his stage was shown during the online concert.

I love all of Jimin's songs, but I hadn't thought about how he uses his voice differently for the tone of the song, I'm sure I felt it, but I'm not good at explaining why I like things especially music. But I agree his voice is so unique and angelic but then he shows this gravelly side sometimes too. Yeah I just love him. But thanks for that explanation.

Also, for those of us able to watch both concerts this performance shocked and amazed us. I recall just plain feeling dazed and confused after the first night. Then the second night happened! 🤪 you should watch the entirety of those concerts. But, until you can work that in your schedules I’d strongly recommend doing this same treatment for My Time by JK. You will be jungshooked! 😏

But I'll tell you part of it. The black pants were tear away, the red ones were under them. a two person team changed him, he stood still and let them do it. This song really validates for me that Jimin is the embodiment of MJ and Prince at the same time. His duality is something so rare and beautiful. The first video wasn't the best for showing the choreo so I understand you weren't able to catch everything. If I'm not mistaken only Jimin's clothes were different between the shows. This Filter Percormance was amazing, like the black white and own it dance with jk. But what Jimin did in the insanly epic bts performance at the mma2019 (melon music award) was so legendery that it evenen amazed jk who did not realised, jimin did it live on stage (no pre-recording). His Dance Solo on the mma2019 was the visual explanation of the word 'gracefull'

2022-10-28 08:02:13 +0000 UTCi know this is unrelated to the video but The Astronaut is finally out by Jin please watch the music video. i will say there are a LOT of easter eggs in the video. question everything. there's a meaning for each scene and each shot in the music video. there is a lot to unpack. i don't know if you are on army twitter but if you are as we've watched the video army came up with the meaning to everything in the video so that can be of help when you watch it. warning: this song and the video made me feel like seokjin was right in front of me and he was singing this specifically to me. it felt like a warm hug before sending someone off knowing you're not going to see that person for a long time it was bittersweet but it was also super comforting and relaxing letting us know that he will reunite with us once again.

I love Jimin's music because, although he doesn't have many songs, it is all amazing and all very different, definitely quality over quantity, each with the perfect production, vocals, music, lyrics, and performance/MV aligned to the emotion and meaning of the song. For example, Promise is an intimate song, a very personal, heartfelt song where he shares a part of himself that he's not particularly happy with, that scares him to share. If you pay attention to the production and how he sings it, it aligns - the production is not polished, it's personal, the voice is slightly shaky just as if he was confiding in you a scary secret about himself. For Lie, its production is very polished, just like the lie that he used to cover up what he was feeling underneath. The music even has lies buried in it (the key change) and he sings it in a confident and polished way, with the full orchestral backing to give the impression of strength. It's not vulnerable like Promise, or ethereal, sweet, magical, and infinitely beautiful like Serendipity, which is about the beauty and magic of the universe and love. Namjoon wrote the, but Jimin used his most beautiful and clear vocals for it. Christmas Love (that he wrote as a gift for Army) is song that gives you the feel of the innocence and joy of a child at Christmas. It makes you feel like you are a kid again and it's not just the music or lyrics, but the vocal tone and sheer joy he infuses into his vocals, along with things like his word choices. It all works together to give you a completely different piece of art. With You is again different. It suited the show it was used for so well, and again, he used his voice differently. A number of reactors were shocked that it was him. You know how the music of some artists all sound similar, how they find their wheelhouse and stay in it? Jimin is like the opposite of that. Just like the many different versions of Jimin that he has inside him and how much fun he has pulling them out, he does the same with his music. I wish I could explain how I see it better, but for me, this part of what makes his music so special/unique.

Jimin, in his usual kick ass way, dances with a number of props, does it exceptionally well, and amps it up by doing different ones in the different performances to make it even harder. Of all the things that used to make me extremely nervous in my dance performances, dancing with props was close to the top (doing lifts with a partner was scarier because you could be seriously injured if they dropped you). With props, no matter how much you practiced, something could easily go wrong that was out of your control. I had a chair collapse during a practice once and broke my front tooth. Jimin frequently pushes himself as performer (e.g. the duet with J-Hope in the Boy Meets Evil performance where he dances blindfolded, as well as in We are Bulletproof Pt 2 where he does a martial arts flip over J-Hope, both cases where if something goes just a tiny bit wrong, it could be very bad), the Filter performances was yet another instance. He also comes up with many unique ideas (the hat trick for example was his idea) and contributes to the choreo and music, and often doesn't get formal credit. He never ceases to amaze me.

This more of a fun playful compilation video of some of the dynamics within the group at times. This video will give you a bit more of an idea of how they all function outside of being this giant powerhouse act and even show some of the chaotic energy we've mentioned in the past. I know you guys had mentioned and asked which duos and trios we love to see together, and I think that this video will give you an intro to some of the dynamics between the hyungs and the maknaes. However don't be fooled, in some pairings the maknaes become the hyungs lol. It's a funny and sweet video that I think you will both enjoy :D

It gave Jimin and the members time to prepare for the next stage while the pre-recorded performance was playing. However I do believe that the fact that he even practiced the trick in the studio means that he was definitely planning on doing it live to give that “wow” effect, but time constraints may have stopped it from happening. Its also important to point out that this MOTS ON:E performance only happened online due to Covid shutting down the world tour. Had the tour been able to happen with a real live audience, I don’t doubt that he would’ve 1000% executed this trick live in front of an audience. Covid unfortunately stopped that from happening 😪

Jimin will snatch you up with witchcraft and Army is in the palm of his hands. Speaking of hands research what was written on Jimin's palms. the live performance is definitely a masterpiece. Working with props adds more rehearsal time, timing and execution. Cudos to the dancers for being right there with him for costume changes and formations. One miss step and it could have all fallen apart, why it was Pre recorded.

As you can see in the dance practice when he was actually wearing layers it was very bulky and heavy for him. In the online concert you can tell there’s little to no layer underneath.

So yes serendipity and filter is for the fans in one interpretation but they are still romantic love songs as well. I love that they do this because it allows multiple audiences to connect with the lyrics even if their interpretations are different. For example, one of the interpretations for Filter and Singularity is changing yourself for your fans but as a normal person, I like to listen to the song and relate it to changing myself for a loved one (I don't have fans sorry lol). And it hits so much more when you listen with the meaning that resonates with your heart and experience. Some fans tend to disregard the possibility of romantic love songs and lyrics but BTS are genius lyricist and a love song is just as deep as any of their other music topics. After all, love is the strongest emotion and we are all on this Earth to feel connections with other humans.

I personally prefer the Day 2 performance because… it’s just so… sensual and graceful and the makeup is more seductive. He looks like an incubus. He wasn’t able to change fast enough (I think I saw another practice where he was struggling with his shoes too). Ultimately they pre recorded this and aired a cut version. I think he still did the performance that same night just not live, that is why his hair and makeup seems to match while watching but not the clothes. Also, the pants could be break-away but he could not have had a red shirt under the white. He has a low v-neck and it would show for sure. Back when they were trying to do the change in practice he was buttoned all the way up in black. The dancers throwing pieces that match his outfit really adds to the illusion though. It’s all Genius! The Jimin Effect is so real!! There are many videos about Jimin turning otherwise straight men Gay. Of course they are tongue-in-cheek but also… yep, he has this effect.

I can say that Performance is the definition of sexy. For the concert they were doing My Time and Filter were back to back and it was a sensual OVERLOAD. If you do watch it make sure to check out the dance break version!!! 🔥 ((The song does have a introspective and deep meaning. As I have said before: it doesn't matter who you're attracted to, everyone is "Jiminsexual" - he's just that powerful. 😄 As for the wardrobe change...I watched the main screen version on day 1 and was fooled at first, but then thought I saw a cut. I watched the multi-cam on day 2, and that's when I knew at least half the dance was pre-recorded (though I wasn't sure which half, and didn't know all of it was pre-recorded until the "Making of" footage was released). As the name implies, multi-cam gives you five different views of the stage, including a static wide angle, tracking shot, performance close-up, etc. Every camera maintained their unique angles as Jimin moved upstage, but there's a quick cut when he throws his hat - and every camera switched to the same tight shot of the dancers parting to show Jimin's wardrobe change (the multi-cam footage of his day 1 performance was uploaded on YT long enough for me to confirm that it had the same cut in the exact same place). Knowing how the trick was done didn't ruin anything for me - it just shows how good a performer Jimin is that he was able to sell it so well. We all bought into the illusion, even if it was only for a moment. I've been a BTS fan for seven years and in my opinion, they're all excellent illusionists who know how use stagecraft and misdirection to hide mics and props - just look at the choreography for "We Are Bulletproof, Pt. 2" or their 2022 Grammy performance of "Butter" (which...wow. 2022-10-27 22:56:42 +0000 UTCI just got to where you guys watched the behind the scenes of him practicing Filter and, like I said in the above comment, he did ultimately decide to cut the performance. The thing with BTS is they take their live stages seriously. They always go above and beyond with their stages, constantly bringing something new, and to them, it doesn't matter how they do it as long as they do. So when Jimin found himself unable to change clothes live, they looked for the next best solution while keeping the performance relatively the same. I don't think that takes anything away from the performance. Just like you both, we all also thought it was live when we first watched it, and we didn't doubt that it was for a second. But when they released the ONE Concert DVD with the behind the scenes footage, we found out it was pre-recorded (along with multiple stages on both nights). And I think this is what Jimin meant when he said he was very ambitious with this performance. He really wanted to pull that stunt off live, but physically couldn't bare it. And we all understood the reasoning and love the stage equally the same as before.

2022-10-27 22:53:02 +0000 UTCsuper excited about this, because filter is a song i could do a powerpoint presentation on 😤 lmao. just like how theres many different filters one could apply on photos, i think this song could apply to many different things/have different interpretations, in addition to what jimin said about filter here! in a spotify interview, he said that a filter could not only apply to photos, but also to people's perspectives and prejudices. he said that he wanted to "present myself to the world in many different ways" and mentions how different the vibe is from Serendipity and Lie. with this in mind, i think it not only applies to being any filter that Army needs, but how he applies the filter to himself. Jimin's said before in a weverse interview, that the clothing he wears changes how a song sounds when performed, and i think you can see that with the different vibes of these 2 performances that you watched today! in the first performance, he had his hair pushed back, minimal makeup, a couple rings. but in the second, he had his hair down in his face, heavier makeup, more jewelry and even had a button undone. so another way that i interpret this song is that hes very fluid with how he presents himself, neither completely masculine nor feminine, not revealing too much about himself nor keeping everything hidden. (edit because i think adding that comment about how jimin "seduces anyone who watches" could apply here LMAO) ANYWAYS this song is cool and i like it a lot 🤪💜

Jimins performance was prerecorded, since it was a Livestreamed concert they were able to add prerecordings to the broadcast of the concert 😊 I'm not sure what all performances were prerecorded but logistically it just made sense to do that, this was an intense concert!

This is the first time i'm commenting on patreon and i'm not sure if you're going to find the answer to this in the rest of the video but when Jimin changes clothes in the live performance, he did indeed plan to do it live, but when preparing he found that dancing with that much clothes on is VERYYY hard. The clothes were too heavy and it was hard for him to move around as swiftly as he's used to. So he decided to pre-record his live performance for this concert (it being their second online concert made it pretty easy for him to be able to do that). So they recorded his live set in pieces; first with the white shirt and black pants and then with the red suit. He did this for both days the concert was happening; the second day he had the purple suit, as you saw, and to be honest, it's my fav out of the two solely because his aura on Day 2 was astounding to me when I first watched it. I can't tell you anything about how he recorded his live vocals for the pre-recorded set but i do know that it can be done and has been done by many western artists as well. I do, however, know that those ARE live vocals, I mean... you can hear his live voice clearly (with a little help from the backing track, but that's a given). So, no, it wasn't magic or a stage mix LOL, but there was a cut in the live performance. Also I LOVEEEE what you said about Jimin at the end of the Day 2 performance, Jordan. That's what the point of the song and performance is and you guys nailed it! I mean, in the song he straight up says "you'll end up wanting only me", and we all do :)

So they paused for him to film the 2nd part of the performance. And twins... you feel the Jimin effect. He seduces everyone 😅 Filter is the perfect song, him saying he has multiple facets, whichever Jimin you want, he can give you that.

I'm happy. Jimin embodies attraction. It doesn't even matter what you're normally attracted to, he is something else completely. And I love the fact that he wears both male and female clothes as all BTS members have said in the past that fashion doesn't have a gender. That's probably why you feel the way you do. Jimin is the most flirty one in the group, just his vibe and persona and how he is, he just makes everyone fall in love with him, it's like a spell tbh to men and women it don't matter who. (Also, the magic trick I think was indeed a trick by editing cuz there was a cut lol, in the practice he changes but in the captions it said he didn't have enough time to change fully, so I'm pretty sure they had to do a cut/change outfit then record again)
