ARMY GOLD…today we present to you our reaction to one of the most wholesome (we really like this word) songs and creations we have ever reacted to. We enjoyed EVERY SINGLE MOMENT of this one.
Special, beautiful, extraordinary, wholesome…each of these words fails to adequately capture the essence and power of this song. ARMY…can you think of any other adjectives that better fit?
Not to mention…less than a week ago, on September 24, 2022, Atlantic Records officially announced that the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) had awarded “My Universe” a platinum certification for over 1 million units sold!!
Here are a things we learned from today’s episode:
1. Chris Martin is a gem on this Earth.
2. BTS, and each individual member, is a gem on this Earth.
3. Geographic borders don’t exist. They are made-up, arbitrarily set, and function to divide us.
4. True human connection is cemented via the sharing of cultures.
5. LOVE TRANSCENDS EVERYTHING.

I have always been a fan of Coldplay's but my love for Chris Martin and the rest of the band has grown exponentially after seeing their genuine love, respect, and treatment of the guys. You nailed it when you said that Chris GETS IT!!! It's interesting that his initial reaction was "how can that work" and I do believe it was more of an artistic question in his mind as well as just the idea that they sing in Korean and he sings in English, so I'm sure he wondered how it would be possible to make a song together. I think that is part of the reason also that Chris wanted to go to SK to record with the guys, because he is technically in a rock band, I'm sure the process of song production is slightly different for them and therefore, why he said it was so interesting to him to be able to see and experience the way BTS is able to use so many different and unique sounds for their music. I don't know if I'm making sense, but in my head it makes sense. I don't know if you've gotten around to watching when Chris showed up at the PTD concert in LA, but that was such an epic moment and they had soooooooo much fun. I hope you've been able to see that. I'm assuming also that you've gotten to The Astronaut by now and I must say that every time I watch Chris' introduction for Jin it brings me to tears. One thing I love about it is his explanation and confession that at first he definitely had that bias because he didn't know BTS when the idea was first brought to him, but he has been able to now use that as a way to spread his message that as we know completely aligns with BTS' message of unity and making the effort to love our differences. Because of The Astronaut, I went and saw Coldplay's Music of the Spheres concert in the movie theater, and I must say it renewed my love for Coldplay and their music and its message and it just reaffirmed to me exactly why Coldplay and BTS worked so well together. And the friendship that Chris has with Jin is a beautiful thing and as Chris said, it helps give me hope. As always a great reaction, and I too literally say every new song or content I watch from BTS, how does this get better, and yet somehow it ALWAYS does! So welcome to club of "it never stops getting better" you're gonna keep loving it.

There’s such a beautiful message and I was going to write about the rhetorical message within the song and the universalness of music and how it can be used as a motif for unity and change. But I ended up writing about one of Viola Davis’ many powerful speeches.

The meet up was at the Apollo Theater when BTS was in NY for the UN session where they spoke for the third time as special envoys for South Korea. Another side note - Chris Martin and his producer went to S. Korea during Covid and the very strict lockdown rules there. He spoke about it in a few interviews but they went through mandatory 10-day quarantine and testing to be there. As he said in the documentary, it was stressful getting there but that was what he was willing to do and they obviously understood and appreciated him even more for it. The whole experience is just beautiful to see! 💜💜💜💜💜
