Every bts song (I feel) does stand on its own two legs bc they’re all so different and unique but they’re all equally as good it’s honestly all subjective but the quality is always there!! Side note for the cyphers (there’s only 4) army thinks bts would lose a genius opportunity to feature V in a possible 5th cypher so it could read literally like Cypher Pt. V lol he’s the rap lines biggest fan and i love it lol so happy y’all loved this recommendation!!

It’s a bit random and to me it’s like a hidden gem (for reactors at least, not many tend to get to that song at all) but every time I listen to it it brings me to tears. And I know the song touches a lot of armys. If you want to hear Jimin rap more, you can check out the live performance of Tony Montana at the 3rd Muster. Tony Montana is a track off of Suga's (AgustD's) first mixtape - in the original track, he had another rapper featuring. When he performed it at the 3rd muster, he instead wrote a verse for Jimin and had Jimin perform the song for him. Jimin is super shy and embarrassed about it, but army love it.

V is the biggest rapline fanboy. He killed this. He once said that his favourite song at one of their concerts was Cypher. Someone said "but you're not in Cypher" and he said..."that doesn't matter". Please react to the Cyphers next. You guys didn't think BTS had it in them because you've not reacted to the Cyphers and would have benefited from that set up. They started addressing the haters during their debut album, well before Ddaeng and were predecessors to Ddaeng. Ddaeng was a gift to ARMY for their anniversary. That's why it's only on SoundCloud. It wasn't random, but rather very calculated free song that was intentionally not added to Spotify so that no money could be made off of it. Glad you enjoyed it, I was holding suggesting this because Cyphers open the door. "UGH" came out in 2020 and after still even more development that is magical to see. I have always thought that V has great potential to rap. I think he needs to find his own flow that works for him and he would sound amazing! Any rap you hear from V, typically he’s just mimicking what the original member sounds like in his own way. But if he actually did it the way he would in a song it would sound 100x better.

I don't know if anyone has told you but JK is the only one in the vocal line who is really good at rapping. Jin really struggles with it and Jimin tends to turn it more into singing than rap. An example of that would be the Agust D song, "Tony Montana" where Jimin joins him onstage for a live performance. V absolutely adores rap line song but he's a vocalist and tends to sing R&B for his solos. The fast-paced speech of rap is difficult for him, but he tries and tries and tries. This is the first performance where he was able to actually rap so well. There's a bit of history with V and Ddaeng. There's a clip of the guys preparing for that Prom Party where V is rapping Ddaeng but when Suga's verse comes up, Suga steps in and takes over, just for that verse. I'm not sure why he did that, but he did. That makes it even more meaningful that in this performance, V is performing Suga's verse and Suga is right next to him, hyping him up. Also, in addition to the two songs you mentioned, Daechwita and Chicken Noodle Soup, the vocal line occasionally raps on Run! episodes. When the vocal line raps during a performance, it's at a muster since that's a concert specifically for their fans. Musters and Run! are the only places we've seen vocal line rap, I think. I hope you continue with Run! until you reach some of those episodes. There's one where Jin raps his favorite rap song and he did it well enough that it impressed the rest of them, including the rap line.

Oh! Also, I mentioned this on your Youtube but I feel like the odds of you seeing it are better here. RM said that when it came to Ddaeng, he brought the melody, Suga brought the beat, and j-hope brought the word/concept "Ddaeng." They came together so well to make something really unique--a traditional sounding rap song with deep (and creative) cultural wordplay. It's just such a clever idea and they all really showed some of their strengths here.

I love watching the vocal line rap but I always like to just remind people that rapping is a craft that takes a lot of effort and talent too. I think in the idol world, anyone who talks over a beat instead of singing over it gets called a rapper (Suga even calls that out in his bars a couple times over he years) but our rappers are real rappers and masters of their craft. So while it's fun to watch the vocal line rap, I get a little defensive when people say "they can all rap!" because the mindset that rapping is easy/easier than singing is so rampant in the kpop world. I feel like it unintentionally undermines the technicality and difficulty of what our rap line does. So I just wanted to put that out there for whatever it's worth. haha

I love how much you love the word Anarchy. And I can tell you that if there is one BTS song that perfectly captures the essence of the word Anarchy…. It is UGH. Both in terms of the beat, the rapping skills and most importantly… the lyrics. It was straight 🔥 they even remade the song and included Jimin officially in the Proof album! So u noticed that V is a BIG rap fan😄 He’s the biggest Rap enthusiast. He would constantly rap the cyphers ( especially the 3rd) until ddaeng dropped. he still talks about wanting to perform that song again. But when Ugh dropped thats all he sang for sooo long lol. This vocal performance is one of the best. If you like them rapping, I can't recommend you enough to see compilations of Jin's rapping. It's some of the best content you could watch ! V loves rapping and encouraging the Rap Line (you will see it with Ugh and the behind the scene of Map of the soul : One, their live concert and with the bangtan episode dedicated to the cypher performance (I think for a festa)). JK is a natural. I hope to see him rap more (maybe in his next album), he's talented ! Jimin is a little shy about it but good as well, you'll see it with Tony Montana !

I'M SO HAPPY YOU GUYS FINALLY GOT TO DDAENG! I just need to ask- are you both ok??? There are many BTS songs that take time to recover from and this is one of them! I know you think you've reached the peak but as you keep saying, you really "have only scratched the surface." I'd love to see you dive into these lyrics more, there are some elements you weren't able to fully grasp yet (which I understand as your minds had been blown!) There is also a Bangtan Bomb which shows the rap line behind the scenes in creating the song and practicing for the performance. It's super interesting to see them at work in this way, plus you get an insight into V's reaction to Ddaeng playing, which may explain why he invaded the stage during the rap line's performance. Even Jimin shocked the other members when he entered the stage. You can see it in some behinds content when the guys are under the stage like 🤯 The performace is from 3rd Muster. Jimin's lyrics are different from the original song. He tried to write them himself but had trouble, so yoongi wrote them. (There is some recorded content in which Jimin reveals though that he had RM look over them after though 😆). A recorded version of Agust D's 'Tony Montana' ft. Jimin was included on the 3rd CD of their anthology album, Proof.

i hope you watch tony montana live. it´s the only recording of the song and jimin raps with Suga, and it´s a legend in the fandom. BTS added tony Montana and born singers to their anthology album because those were fan favorites. tony montana is just like deang, because it does not ruin your journey. they could not ad daeng and UGH witch is distracs and in korea idol bands are not allowed to do something like that. that is why they uploaded it on SoundCloud . BTS keep finding ways to sing about what they think is important. spring day is another genius song witch is many army's favorite song because of the powerful message. it´s still charting in korea after 6 years.

UGH I'm so unbelievably happy you to reacted to Ddaeng. Honestly ddaeng is that song for me that if I could go back in time and listen to it for the first time again I would because I want to remember how I felt. It's one of my favourite bts songs which is funny because they never actually released it on streaming platforms which feels insane to me. Tae is also a huge rap line and ddaeng enthusiast which you'll see is a recurring theme. I'm begging for you guys to listen to ugh, also a rapline song. There's so much nuance to them and while I love all the boys, and vocal line as well, rapline will always have a special place in my heart because prior to listening to BTS I mainly listened to rap. I'm also really partial to Anpanman, not sure if you guys get a lot of requests for that but their concert performances of that are my fave.

HANGUL (korean writing system) LESSON! The song is romanized as 'Ddaeng' because of the breakdown of the individual letters. The hangul for Ddeang is 땡. It a single syllable & contains 3 letters. - ㄷ : sounds like 'd'; you can double up this consonant to give it a stronger sound/emphasis so in 땡 it's a 'dd' - ㅐ: sounds like 'ae' - ㅇ: sounds like 'ng' when placed at the end of a syllable. Once you can recognize the different letters in hangul it's actuall really easy to sound out words (even though you might not know what it means lol). Hangul is super easy to learn. Takes about 15-30 minutes to learn the basic sounds and structure. 🥰

A few fun things to add: - There is a bangtan bomb/behinds of the guys working on the production of the song & rehearsing for the live performance. - It's tradition that the members release at least one song for each FESTA anniversary. Ddaeng was released in June 2018 for festa. - There is usually some kind of concert/live event to finish out festa. For 2018 Festa this was referred to as 'Prom Party.' - Prom Party had 3 unit performances. --- Ddaeng by rapline --- It's Definitely You by Tae & Jin (this is from the hwarang OST, which Tae acted in from 2016) --- MJ's Black or White dance cover by Jimin & Jungkook If I recall correctly, the hanbok that RM is wearing in the Prom Party performance was a gift from an army. Until more recent years (at the request of the company) army used to send gifts to the members, especially during their earlier years because they couldn't afford a lot of things. This includes a rice cooker, some bowls & cups, and even a pillow for Jin that we've caught glimpses of even in more recent clips from their dorm & bon voyage episodes.

I’m so glad y’all watched the vocal line performance too. V is such a rapper omg. Literally every member can do it all and they’re not afraid to go for it. Oh guys, I'm so excited for your rap line journey! (I'm sure all of us are). Before BTS I wasn't THAT interested in Hip Hop... I mean, I liked it but I didn't give the respect that it deserves, and this 3 guys (especially RM, since he has wrote some of my FAVORITE lyrics) opened my eyes to this world. It's art, social criticism, poetry, self reflection... I think that is one of BTS's biggest gifts to me, broadening my sight and art appreciation. I actually LOVE all the cyphers (aka International Anthems), hope you guys give them a try sooner than later, I don't think it spoils the "BTS path" if you listen to them one after the other. And, oh god, Outro: Tear i'ts just bittersweet (knowing the context in why Yoongi wrote it), once you get to the Love Yourself trilogy you'll understand it better. I also think, that you guys will give the desserved appreciation to Suga's (Agust D) solo music. It is honest, raw, great production, lyrics, technique and PURE quality. Just how Yoongi is like. I personally love "So far away" ft Suran (they actually uploaded a version with JK and Jin in the vocals), "The last", "Tony Montana" ft Yankie (He has performed this one with Jimin) and my two new obessions are "28" ft NiiHWA and "People". Just Honest lyrics, no holding back and TALENT. And RM's solo work is BEAUTIFUL, "seoul" = GORGEOUS (you can hear his vocals here) "Everythingoes"=a masterpiece. Actually... ALL Mono album is ART. I've never been, and will never be, tired of it. For me, it's a perfect album, just like Jack in the Box and D-2. Lost of love, everyone!

V is a performer! he loves the camera, versatile, pulls anything off (except for maybe roller blading lol), and he particularly loves rapping the rap lines songs. I think there is a bang tan bomb of him rapping one of the cyphers and the other members are just cracking up the entire time. Also you’ll find BTS and their team spend a LOT of time on every aspect of their songs, their staging, their performance and that includes lighting, dancers, smoke, water, etc. truly high level and passionate artists.

I know you already mentioned this in the video on YouTube, but I'd like to say it here.... If "Ddaeng" blew your mind, "Ugh" will END you. It doesn't really tie into a story line per say, but it is a song from their 2020 album "Map of the Soul: 7." I highly suggest listening to it as it is one of the songs we ARMY like to recommend to Hip-Hip Head reactors. But be forewarned: you will need to stand, you will need to blast it as loud as you can, and you might destroy the speakers of your car! Enjoy!
