A friend of mine recently reminded me about this reclusive, fascinating Australian cryptid. In some folklore the Bunyip is a shapeshifter who steals away and gobbles up children. Other versions suggest that he's just a misunderstood hermit who wants to be left alone in his billabong. I prefer the second concept. :) Sometimes he's depicted as a bird, or a fish or a hairy monster akin to North America's Sasquatch. I myself have a predilection to the big hairy guy who just wants some peace and solitude. Although, maybe he's up for a little company now and again. Must get lonely in the outback for a hulky, huggable monster!
(Note: This color palette took me quite awhile to feel happy with but we finally got there!)
