BTS - “Fix You” Cover | Twins First Reaction

WATCH HERE: VIMEO or DROPBOX

PASSWORD: COLDPLAY

ARMY GOLD…this one’s for you.

We went into today’s video naively thinking that we had never heard Coldplay’s song, "Fix You,” before. However, once the song started playing, we realized that we only needed to hear a few notes to trigger the musical memory buried within our subconscious. This song is legendary.

And BTS covered it to perfection, while sitting in a row of chairs on a dimly lit stage. While each of the members delivered incredible vocal performances, Jimin stole the show for us. He was, in fact, the only one holding a GOLD microphone.

As we mentioned in the video, make sure you let us know what you would like us to react to next, and what "fits" with the current stage of our journey.

For those of you who have already shared your stories with us about how BTS found you, we thank you for your courage and strength…we have read through all of your comments. For anyone who hasn’t already shared their story with us, and would like to, we welcome you to comment under this video or send us a private message!

We truly appreciate your love and support. Your ARMY GOLD subscription allows us to produce higher-quality reaction videos, and moves us closer to our goal of doing this full-time! Let us know if you have any questions, feedback, thoughts, etc. at any time!  BORAHAE!!

Looking back, doesn't it make the most sense that these two bands, these two worlds, collided? Fix You hits differently. I couldn't believe you said you didn't know the song, and I was glad you realized you knew it. I decided to play this video while doing the dishes. I had to stop and come join you when I heard the crowd singing " Fix You," it gave me chills. Hearing a whole stadium sing with Chris is magical, and much like being with army, being part of a crowd like that is one of the most magical experiences I've had in life. Chris wrote that song for his then-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, after she lost her dad. It gives me chills every time I see a live performance. Yes, you should go to a Coldplay concert if you ever have the chance. They are great live, and there is so much communal joy in their sing-along. This cover is beauuuuutiful, and I love the combination of vocal line-rap line voices. They killed it.

So beautiful! 💜

I love this song sooo much... however it makes me tear up. But that's because I feel like I am singing it to myself often. BTS covered it with beauty, talent and grace effortlessly. I loved your reaction to this. It was just as soft and loving as the song. 💜💜💜 Borahae 💜💜💜💜

Yas. Love it. One of my favorite covers. I like it more than the original. I usually do with covers. Haha. Oh but Jin stole the show for me. His voice was perfect in this performance. And my BTS story is a simple one. I used to watch Instastories before going to sleep. And I landed on an actress who was live Meg Donnelly so I was watching and people kept telling her to listen to BTS - Mic Drop. She knows some Japanese and Korean and liked BTS. So she was like okay okay Ill play it. They wanted her to play it cause it was Hobis birthday. This was 2018. And I heard the song and liked it. I looked up the video and heard only that song for a week cause I was scared I wouldnt like any other songs from them. Lmao. They reminded me of a kpop group Shinhwa I used to love in 1999. Lmao. So I tried other songs and clearly loved them. Then started watching reactions. Then found out about compilation videos. Then found out about vlive. Then found out about Run BTS. It took me years to catch up on almost everything BTS cause now Im 3 years behind on their lives. Haha. But I love them. I love their music but I love their personalities more and thats what made me stick with them. Cause they never think theyre somebody. And theyre so frikkin goofy I love that. But yeah thats my story. Plain and simple. Hahaha.

Sorry, this one is going to be long too. First, this performance is so beautiful and I loved watching your reaction, especially to Jimin's angelic voice. I'm sure someone has already told you this by now, but it's often referred to as the Jimin Effect and many ARMY say that once you Jimin you can't Jimout. I for one am one of those. Jimin is my bias, I grew up dancing and singing and so I was immediately drawn to Jimin. His dancing is beautiful and I loved dancing when I was younger, well I still love dancing, but I took tap, jazz and ballet for many years growing up. I've always loved music and singing, I sang in choir in school, so I personally think that because Jimin's voice is so high, he is easier for me to sing along with, but also as you've heard his voice is the voice of an angel, there really is just no other way to describe it. My BTS story. During the summer of 2021, I committed to myself to get more active by swimming in my parents pool every day. I love swimming and even better was that I could listen to music while I did it and I love music. A little back story. I had heard of BTS prior to 2021, in fact, I really love Halsey a lot, so I saw them perform with Halsey on an awards show and at the time, I remember thinking, "who is that singing with Halsey" when I realized it was BTS a K-pop group, I sadly had the typical ignorant reaction thinking K-pop was for teenage girls, so I really didn't give them another thought. Then Dynamite came out and I heard it so much and it was so catchy, I finally gave into my ridiculous ignorance and decided that I obviously liked the song so I might as well just add it to my playlist. Then one day I found myself watching their video and I'm not joking when I say that I really thought they were teenage boys (boy do I feel stupid now) but to be fair, they were dressed in pastel short outfits and kinda did look like boys in the Dynamite video. I'm pretty sure this all transpired after Butter had come out as well, because I'm pretty sure I watched that video too. I definitely thought, "ahhhh those are cute boys, I wonder who is singing what." So I googled their names and the lyrics trying to figure out who was who. But at first I went by hair color only to find out in the next video their hair colors were different. New strategy. Anyway, when I find a new artist that I like, I usually will add quite a bit of their discography to my Apple Music Playlist with the idea that if I really do like them as an artist and not just this one or two songs that drew my attention to them, then I'll figure it out organically by being drawn to a song while it pops up in my playlist. So, I added probably most of the BTS albums to my playlist and didn't think much about it again. Fast forward to summer again and I'm going to the pool every day. While I'm swimming I'm playing music from my phone, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that EVERY single time a song came on and I thought, "oh I really like this song, I wonder who sings it?" because it was a song I wasn't familiar with, I would swim to the edge of the pool, grab my phone to see who it was and EVERY singe time it was BTS. After about a week of this happening A LOT, I thought to myself, well clearly I really like their music, but they're singing mostly in Korean, so I guess I better find out what they are saying. And as ARMYs usually put it, I went down the rabbit hole. Once I started looking up their lyrics, I was done for. As you've said numerous times, their lyrics are poetry, but their messages are so wonderful in virtually every song. Whether they are encouraging you to love yourself, or singing about some social injustice, or even their own struggles with prejudice and hatred, their music is art and their lyrics always SAY SOMETHING, even when they say - "f**k you, you don't know me, you couldn't be me, and stop running your mouth until you've worked as hard as I have" and I LOVED it all. I loved the rawness of the rappers, especially Yoongi when he sings about mental health and his personal struggles, you just don't see that kind of vulnerability today and it helps so many people. And then the vocal lines beautiful singing just cemented my love for their artistry even further. But as I obsessed and consumed as much as I could about them, as fast as I could, I'd say virtually equal to my love for their clear musical talent was the love and admiration I felt when I realized their strength of character. The more I watched about them, and the more I listened to them in interviews or VLives and Vlogs, the more I was astounded that people as humble as them really still existed. I had been very distraught those last few years because of the horrible divide in our country and politics was so disheartening. And I had struggles with even division within my own family and politics and mindsets that were honestly rather shocking for me to realize because these were people I loved and I was so surprised by some of their ways of thinking. So, I was very disillusioned when it came to mankind. I am not lying when I say that BTS renewed my hope in mankind. They showed me that money doesn't have to ruin everyone or everything, and that a person can have great success and wealth and popularity as they did and not let it go to their heads. Their humility is so refreshing to me and then when I began to understand this unique relationship they have build with ARMY I knew I was ARMY because as you've said, it really is the most wonderful civilization on this earth, and nothing that I have ever experienced before or since. When I first started hearing people saying BTS saved them, I didn't quite understand, and now I completely get it. Sometimes, I feel as though that burden must be so hard for them to bear, and yet I also feel like they view it as such a grand blessing for them, which is just another reason to love them. And so now I spend much of my days continuing to try and catch up on the 9 years that I missed, and as has been said a lot, the amount of content is huge. I have often wanted to start my own website or database, as I try and delve through all of this, because so often things are hard to find. There are so many ARMYs who have done beautiful jobs gathering certain information, but I still have yet to find a place that literally holds everything or at least one place to find everything, although wiki fandom is pretty close. But, there is so much more brimming inside my head. But, unless or until I figure out some actual way to make something like my dream exist, I will just continue to consume all of the information I can, because I'm so curious about EVERYTHING, which is definitely one reason I am drawn to your videos, because you both seem to want to methodically learn everything you can as well, and I love that. I wish I didn't have so much to catch up on here, but I'm a trooper and also a binge watcher, so I have little doubt I'll be able to do it, and then hopefully we can help each other continue on this wonderful, magical journey. I will let you know that until I was somehow moved to click on your video which was your first - the Black Swan reaction, I have not watched many reactors. I find too many of them a little contrived, so I stay away from them, but after your first video, I was so impressed with the care and respect and research you wanted to do about BTS, I was rather instantly hooked. And I never dreamed I'd join Patreon, but here I am, ready to join the ride. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and your interest in really going beyond just the music, which as you've read is what drew me in too and not to be minimized but BTS is so much more than just music, as you've described, it's a civilization and BTS is the creator of it all. I am truly mesmerized by all of them because even though I am truly enjoying their individual projects and I do believe (after a week of crying after the Festa Dinner) that this was a necessary and such a loving gift to themselves to allow this individual growth, there is something uniquely magical about BTS as a whole and I am so excited for what happens when they are able to reunite after having learned so much and gone on these individual journeys, which by the way have on their own been amazing and every member that comes out with their album, I just think, how can it get better, and it just seems to always get better and better, and that's their magic. They are truly unicorns and some of the most talented people I have ever had the pleasure to get to know, and I hope that I can witness much much more.

As for the choice of the cover it was during Covid, there were a lot of ARMYS going down dark places on Vlive and Twitter they would express their pain and distress of the situation and very very sadly we lost some ARMYS 💔 I do believe this is why BTS did this cover 🥹💜

Jared and Jordan thank you for this now you know I just earned my Gold Wings so I am just now seeing this!!! This is where the music was 🤷🏼‍♀️ Ok you know the difference now there are performers who entertain and make their money and clout but then there is Coldplay and BTS. So here is where we disagree it isn’t calculated at all they are allowing themselves to organically use body language to connect the fans to each other and to them! Chris Martin lays on the floor to show he is small compared to them they are equals he is creating intimacy and all this energy swells and this is when everyone connects and all feelings of loneliness fade because you are actually a part of something special this is who BTS are they let all guards down they don’t want to be idolized they want to create an intimate relationship with ARMY and because it is natural it just evolves into something that can only be felt and not explained! What was the first thing you both said “ I want to go to a Coldplay Concert “ you said that because you immediately felt the love and intimacy and you want to experience it! 💜 (I think I wrote an essay 🤣)

And JIMIN....he's just an angel

Amazing reactions!!! Yes, Coldplay is THE BAND of the century and they have a lovely relationship with BTS Boys, they basically adopted them.

Min Jet

Thank you for showing the COLDLAY live, have never seen that before. Watching this after seeing Jin preform with them in Argentina. Makes Jin's performance even better, him running down the stage like Chris did is so sweet.

Definitely would love to see you guys do a reaction of their Tiny Desk Performance. I know the songs are of the newer years so maybe once you guys get to those songs you can do a reaction of that performance. It's soo good!
