Lads of Sand Land
Added 2023-08-11 03:13:49 +0000 UTCI finished up yesterday's piece with color! Woo! The big fella here is called Gremlin, and next to him is Sheriff Rao. Unlikely allies who understand the importance of finding accessible water for their peoples. These are two characters from Toriyama's short-lived manga Sand Land from years ago. Apparently it's now getting a movie made and an XBOX game too, which is... a little bit crazy on the game front considering how short the source material is, but maybe the adaptation will be getting more story added? Should be interesting to see! It's worth looking into, if only because like half the cast are bearded or mustached older men! These guys just happen to be my favorites. :)

I really wanted to challenge myself on this piece because I typically draw centaurs standing up or running from the back. Putting one on his back with his legs splayed was something new for me and I ended up really liking the result!

Centaurs are really hard to draw proportionately, you manage to do that and have him laying down while being incredibly sexy… I’m actually jealous of the human. Lol 😛 Some of your best work. I hope you do more of these two as they obviously have more “cooperating work” to do!
