Papa Pio!
Added 2020-09-05 02:22:59 +0000 UTCOften neglected, more often unknown, the Mario brothers do in fact have a father. He's bearded, grey, huskier and named Papa Pio! He's mentioned very seldom back in the day but I've been meaning to show him some love for awhile now. I thought about how hot he'd look in some of my favorite power-ups including Boo, hammer brother, frog, and tanuki. He has an old wish star named Eldstar who sometimes shares in his adventures. Now that Pio is retired and his sons grown, he travels the Mushroom Kingdom and beyond, exploring the worlds and getting into horny mischief as much as he can!

His true appearance didn't become known or canon until a child's food tray from the mid-eighties surfaced that depicted a then previously unknown Mario relative wearing yellow clothing and blue overalls while smoking a pipe which was later revealed (unsure when it was revealed) to be Mario & Luigi's father. To this day, that food tray from the mid-eighties is the only known image of Mario & Luigi's father, unless I am mistaken.

I love the fact that he actually smokes a pipe IN CANON which makes it all the more awesome. I honestly would love to see him in a game sometime soon! I still love Bowser just a little more though, but honestly, I would LOVE to see a bearded Daddy Bowser kidnap Papa Pio just to fool around with him! Regardless, I hope this isn't the last we will see of Papa Pio. I just learned about him and I want more of him now.
