Wednesday Pin-Ups: Legend of Zelda, Link Rule 63

But since Link was in the leads the longest, I felt he (or rather she) deserved to go first. So here's a ton of images of a Rule 63 Link that I made up in Midjourney. Most of just generic Rule 63s but I tossed in a few scenarios as well, such as 'what if Link was an overweight peasant that sold chickens in Hyrule Market' and 'Gerudo Link' and my personal favorite, Barmaid Link. Zelda's pin-up will be next Wednesday.
I've actually fallen off the Legend of Zelda train, have been for decades at this point. The last LoZ game I completed was Wind Waker back on the Gamecube and while I grew to like it, Ocarina of Time will always be my favorite, stereotypical as it is. I didn't bother with Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword...And don't hate me for this, but I didn't like Breath of the Wild at all and as such didn't bother with Tears of the Kingdom (which I couldn't anyway since I don't own a Switch lol).
I'm actually old enough that I played the original game on my original NES back in the day when all of that was the cutting edge of gaming technology. I still have my NES...somewhere. Link's Awakening for the GameBoy was where I actually made progression, though. Never played A Link to the Past on the Super NES, but I was a pretty terrible gamer until things went 3D. After that it was like a switch flipped in my brain and I got REALLY good at video games REALLY fast.
But you stick me in front of a 2D SNES era game and I'll flail about and struggle like nothing else. For instance, I had Donkey Kong Country at launch...And I finally beat it after thirty years like a month ago. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest about gave me an aneurism, when I started it up next, lol. I have no idea how ten year old me ever got as far as Screech's Sprint (the final normal level of the game before the end boss), I didn't even make it that far now, lol.
But yeah, I tapped out after Wind Waker, plus I felt the Gamecube was more or less a failure. My interests were shifting away from Nintendo anyway, and I ended up getting a PS2 and an Xbox. So many hours spent on those machines, and it's where I fell in love with Halo: Combat Evolved. But that's a different rant for a different day (and maybe a different pin-up post).
