Is the set gonna fit?

Quick little update from yours truly here. We have hired a wonderful production designer, Erik Louis Robert (https://www.eriklouisrobert.com/) to do some initial design work. While we are a couple months out from beginning to build there are two primary things we need to know ASAP.

1. Will the stage space we already leased for 2 years actually work?

2. A pretty solid understanding of how much it will cost.

Above is a blueprint of the very first pass of the set. The core components we need are:

Erik brought up this blueprint and we are very happy that the set seems like it will work just fine! It's gonna be a tight fit, and we will for sure be discussing all the logistics as we get deeper into it.

Just from this initial design, the next steps are for Erik to go off to do a revision based on our notes. We are adjusting so that the front door will line up with our loading bay. We want the kitchen to have a door / more separation. We also don't need as much at the front of the restaurant as Mama Wong's will be freestanding. Erik initially gave us the front of a strip mall, with a large walkway and awning. And while that was great, we like the fairy tale feel of the stand-alone restaurant. Also, it will give us another 3-4 feet for the set.

When we get the next revision, we will do a walkthrough with Erik himself so we can get into much more detail about the logistics and considerations of the set. You can all meet him then. But we wanted to share this very first pass at the set as we got it.

I've also attached the PDF of the blueprint that also shows some of the 3D modeling, just so you can begin to see Mama Wong taking shape.

Oh and the second question: how much will it all cost? That's coming next. We will be sharing early schedule ideas and budgets soon!
