When Reya wakes from naps, sometimes she cries, even as a toddler. She needs the emotional regulation and my comfort and breast helps her mental wellness and development.
While she was napping, I was able to work on my lactation studies. I have learned that WHO, which stands for the World Health Organization has a code, that all countries must follow. Not all of them do, including the United States. The results are devastating. Lack of breastfeeding support and the forbidden push of formula and formula advertising puts childrens health at risk. Formula may not always meet the health requirements to grow your baby, sanitation also, isn't always good. Sometimes, poor uneducated mothers even give their children powdered milk, thinking it is similiar. And also they can't afford proper formula or water. The babies suffer, sometimes die, get diarrhea, allergies and gut issues, can't walk. Developmental delays are evident.
Breastmilk is free and protects against viruses, disease, facilitates normal IQ and even could possibly protect your child from obesity and diabetes later in life.
