ALTA ep 5
Added 2023-09-09 18:28:28 +0000 UTCyeee another episode. I know that season 1 is supposed to be slow, but I'm still enjoying it. It's a bit childish at times since it was meant for children, but I'm excited to see everyone's progression

well we know that the tattoos are for airbenders, but them and their culture have been dead for 100 years. So most people wouldn't know them at a glance, if at all

2023-10-19 10:46:48 +0000 UTCThere is a lot of episodic worldbuilding in the season 1, which is typical for an anime but not for a story driven western show.

2023-09-10 16:51:10 +0000 UTCOh! Been away for a few days and coming back to ATLA is the best kind of surprise! I don't know what people mean when they say season 1 is supposed to be slow, personally I think the show is one of the best paced long animation shows. I think it's people having personal preferences for what they like about the show, since it does evolve in different directions over the seasons.
I'm following way too many nsfw accounts to use a name here
2023-09-10 06:35:34 +0000 UTCThe show matures as it goes on, the stakes are just the lowest at this point in the show as it's just getting started

2023-09-10 04:41:27 +0000 UTCSo Aang isn't overly OP at this point - he's at the level of master for his first element, but as this episode shows, there are other people in this world who are masters. Zuko is only 16 and definitely still has a lot to learn, which is why Aang beat him, but there are firebending masters in the fire nation who would destroy Aang currently.

2023-09-09 21:50:15 +0000 UTCOn of the better early episodes imo. I think this show really develops in maturity as the episodes go by. It does start off as a funny bald kid and his wacky friends but it does touch a lot on war, imperialism and morality in ways you wouldn't expect. Glad you are enjoying it!

2023-09-09 20:30:49 +0000 UTCIt's like Phinneaus and Ferb; a show geared more for kids but totally enjoyable for adults. lol
