Breaking Bad 2x4 Reaction

Breaking Bad 2x4 Reaction

IF ONLY Walter and Jesse would just take the wise advice of Chi and Hella, this whole programme would have turned out very differently indeed. 🤷‍♂️🤣

She tries to talk, over and over, and Walt does nothing but lie and lie and lie, disappear, lie, disappear, and lie more. The moment she decides to give Walt a tiny taste of his own medicine for just a few days, suddenly she's being childish and ridiculous. Well, it worked, and Walt can't handle being treated the way he's treating his family, not even for a few days. And yet, when she goes back to wanting to talk and is willing to listen, he just lies again. He literally stood there and lied, knowing it would end their marriage.Sometimes the only way to deal with a person is to hold a mirror to their face. What is she supposed to do, just go on being lied to daily as Walt disappears for days? The man literally walks out of the house and leaves if she even tries to talk to him about it. Even his "writers convention" was nothing but a sad ploy to get his wife out of town, masked as some sort of thoughtful gesture.

I have made many of the same observations you have. Unfortunately many Americans will defend their predatory and broken systems just to protect their ego. Its how they are so easily manipulated by those in power.

Cornelius P. Stranglefart, Attorney at Law D.D.S.

America sadly has a culture of “once you are 18 you must immediately live and pay all bills on your own”. Families, even loving and close families, often all live separate lives. Separate housing and utility costs. And everyone pays their own way. The older generation take it as a point of pride, and will say things like “when I was 18 I moved out on my own, I wasn’t a bum!” However I noticed immigrant communities in the US end up doing really well because they all live together and share bills and living expenses. Then once the kids are older they take on the brunt of expenses and help care for the parents and grand parents. But Americas older generations don’t want to live together with their family, and some wonder why their family isn’t close to them when they are older, or why they live alone in an old folks care home when they get too old for their house. It’s a sad situation. But I think the younger generations will eventually change this again to be like long past where American families lived together.

I love these Breaking Bad reactions. I can’t wait till it gets further along. It’s so good.

Glad Chi is calling out some of Skyler's behavior too...she's so petty, I get why she'd be upset but the way she handles things is just ridiculous and childish imo. Ppl argue about her character alot and bring up bad things Walt does, I don't even disagree with her morally...but she's just very annoying and passive aggressive.

Jessie's situation is sad, but almost inevitable. When I was a student, I worked for a while in a psychiatric clinic for people trying to quit drugs. Believe me, it's never easy when it comes to drugs. His parents have most likely gone through far worse suffering than Jessie could ever imagine. Yes, you can feel sorry for Jessie, but any help he wants won't help him, and that's the problem. He doesn't want to change; he wants an easy way out of a difficult situation. What do you think he'll do with the money Walter gave him? Rent a small apartment, budget carefully to get by for a few months, seek professional help? Certainly not. He'll go back to his friends and pick up right where he left off. People with severe drug addictions have to want to change, and that means radical changes. The entire circle of friends connected to drugs has to be cut. Otherwise, these "friends" will keep dragging him down because they have no interest in him getting better. The problem is, you can't force people like that to change; they have to want it themselves, and to get there, they have to fall even lower than Jessie did in this episode. Walter could maybe help him if he wanted to and didn't have such big problems of his own. As far as Walter is concerned, I'm definitely on Skyler's side, except for the smoking while pregnant, of course. Yes, I don't like the polite, silent treatment she gives Walter, but I can understand it from her perspective. If you think about it, she's making Walter feel what he's put her through these past few weeks. Disappearing for extended periods without any real explanation, giving polite but meaningless answers when asked. Her life has certainly been hell, and she endured it much longer than Walter, who's already at his breaking point after just a few days. Of course, it's not easy for Walter to smooth things over, but his previous attempts haven't been particularly good either. That was a great reaction, as always, ladies.💜

Isn’t this kind of a bad faith take on his character? Where is it ever stated or shown that Jesse had a great childhood and family? Everything about his past is vague at best. What we are shown of his family life is how it currently stands in the present and the rest is left up to audience interpretation. There is hardly enough info presented in the show to say anything this definitive about his turn to drugs and crime.

That was a crazy good episode and the writing was incredible. I really felt Jesse at his lowest point. When he’s putting on the mask and completely breaking down. The tears start flowing. 🥹 It has to be so frustrating for Skyler. Why doesn’t Walt just say, “The second phone is for my weed buyer. I’m smoking again”?

I'm surprised hella was emotionally effected by Jesse's homeless, This is honestly nothing. It gets incredibly worse.

Merry Christmas to the Movie Munchies, loving the BB episodes! This was a slower episode but full of great low points for the characters and I loved your discussion about it.
