Jurassic Park: The Lost World Reaction

Jurassic Park: The Lost World Reaction

I think that with this one, Spielberg wanted it to have a more "Jaws" sort of feel to it. The first one was scarier, but the main bad guy in it we see is the raptor. Hammond goes on a redemption arc. In this one its clear who the badguy is and its none of the dinosaurs, which is more in line with Jaws and the the town Mayor who refuses to close the beaches. At least in the first movie Hammond thought he was taking several security precautions. In this one its just a bunch of guys with guns who have no idea what they're doing, very similar to Jaws. Lastly, Spielberg had the chance to set a T-Rex loose in big city. Of course he's going to want to direct that! At the same time I can see why he didn't take part in any of the followup movies. At least in this one there was still a story, and that was Ian trying to warn the public of this threat. Tell them the truth. That didn't resolution didn't happen of the first film, but in this one we got that.

I love how at 1:59:28 when the greedy guy gets eaten by the T-Rex, Hella and Chi are looking away w/ disgust, but Ivy is smirking with satisfaction! hahaha

Jonah Engebretsen

The T-Rex parents didn't abandon their child; they were out hunting. Also, heh heh heh, would you ask a lion if it could understand that you were just fixing its cub's leg... 🀨?

The girlfriend and the photographer are as bad or worse than anybody from the "bad guy" team. Eddie was a true hero though. It's a shame they got him killed with their stupidity.

Hey Munchies, Game of Thrones 7x4 is still locked for non-early access Patreons. It's over a day late at this point..

Chris

One of the best scenes I've ever seen to get rid of a bunch of extras, yet still maintains that intimate sense of doom. Although the little T-Rex short film at the end still baffles me.

Nathanial House

This is a fun sequel. It's not a s good as the original. The script isn't nearly as smart, but it is still fun. I hope that you guys eventually continue with the Ghostbusters sequels :)

I think the ladies have watched a bit too much Godzilla. No, the T-Rex is unfortunately not the protector of humanity and guardian of balance.πŸ˜… I still remember how impressed I was by that high-tech truck back then. It's still pretty cool today, but not really that impressive anymore. The best thing about the movie is the character Ian Malcolm, the only one with a modicum of common sense, and Jeff Goldblum delivers his one-liners really well. His girlfriend, on the other hand, just annoys me. First she gives a lecture about how the T-Rex has the best sense of smell in the entire animal kingdom, only to walk around with a jacket covered in fresh T-Rex baby blood, laying a nice trail for the T-Rex. I think we don't want to risk that the T-Rex get lost.πŸ˜‚ I like the movie despite its weaknesses, and the reaction of the Munchies made it much better. It was so fun how mad Hella was with the human characters in the last third of the movie. I just thought, Hella, there are lots of people who can relate to that.πŸ˜… That was an awesome reaction, as always, ladies.πŸ’œ

I agree that these movies are not that good, I feel like 9 year old boys are the target audience. I don't plan to watch any of the Star Wars series reactions either, they seem to be made for kids also.

Great Reaction to a Terrible Movie ~ This is my hot take, I'm not trying to argue with anyone. I'm entitled to an opinion just like everyone else. I'd estimate that most people here will vastly disagree with me. But if everyone agreed on everything, how boring would the world be?!??! This was my first time watching this one, and it's now my second Jurassic movie, since I hadn't seen any of them before the Munchies reactions to them. I just cannot understand the popularity of these movies... I lasted to the end with the first one, but this one lost my interest about half way through, and I finally gave up and missed the last 30 ~ 45 minutes. The characters are like cartoon villains, if the bad guys had a mustache, they'd be twirling it like Snidely Whiplash while trying to tie a baby dinosaur to the railroad tracks... As for the "heroes"... These people are the dumbest with most shallow character development. For fucks sake, Jeff Goldblum plays the SAME character in every movie lol. He's on par with Nicholas Cage I think. "Put, the bunny, back in the box" level of yikes. As for the messaging/narrative being awkwardly shoved in my face. It's a real bummer.... I already have my own ideas about complex social issues, and don't appreciate my propaganda in child story format. I understand the no one wants to hear my personal politics, so that's all I have to say on the matter. The only theory that makes sense to me, is that everyone else here may have watched these in their childhood, and they have some sentimental value? Anyway, I would state that CLEARLY, I'm in the minority, and I'm not complaining if this is what everyone else enjoys, then by all means, enjoy it. But you couldn't pay me to watch the rest of the series. Well... actually you could, I guess. But I would need a substantial sum :D

"they look peaceful" while looking at one of the most territorial herbivores to ever roam the earth

I hope you can continue with the newer Jurassic World (2015) and Jurassic World Dominion (2022), with Chris Pratt. There's a Jurassic World ride at the Universal Studios theme park in Hollywood. I went on the original ride when I was a kid. If you ever visit California, you should go to Universal Studios. Or at least you can watch it on YouTube https://youtu.be/3yDkR_cDVlU?si=pk_v8c_AdiSKsGqS

The Simple Simp

"is she adopted? cause uhhh" lmfao

Paul De'Armond

A primal animal like a T Rex helping a human is a hilarious wacky concept haha

Stefan Williams

Another fantastic reaction. I'm happy you three did part 2 and now are doing part 3. 3 is kinda goofy but I love it. It's a fun watch. Hoping you'll do Jurassic World too. It's a fun ride. Not sure of the ones past that. Hear they're not good but either way. I'll watch them. Thank you again for another fun movie watch. You three are so enjoyable to watch. So many funny lines from you ladies lol. 🀣

Looney

Like this movie, but it always bothered me that the real villain, Vince Vaughn's character, appears to get away scot free. His sabotage led to nearly the entire expedition being slaughtered and there are no consequences at all? Very strange.

Ryan Alexander

Loved this reaction! Really glad you came back to Jurassic Park alongside Ivy as I still have fond memories of the original films. The first one is of course a timeless classic but this is still fun since it has even more dinosaurs. The vicious little Compsognathus, the legend Stegosaurus, beloved Pachycephalosaurus, the big herbivore stampede and the wholesome T-Rex family. In the first film Hammond acted stupid because of hubris, that was part of the films themes, but in this one more characters tend to act stupid like wandering off, attracting danger and Hammonds damn nephew being even more blindly greedy. The action scenes are dialed up, we went from a car falling down a wall to two buses falling off a cliff, the gymnast kick (which is a bit over the top) and of course a T-Rex terrorising a city. (I believe there's a Godzilla reference in what I think is a group of Japanese men running away) The horror scenes are definitely dialed up as this reaction has one of the most jump scares for Movie Munchies i've seen. We've got death by a thousand bites, someone getting The Lady and the Tramp'd by the two Rexes and the freaky tent scene followed by the chase into the waterfall (with the probably the best MM snake scare yet πŸ˜…). Not to mention the iconic scene of the raptor massacre in the tall grass. Had so much fun and definitely looking forward to Jurassic Park 3 😁 it also ramps up the tension and spectacle with some crazy set pieces. Jurassic World was quite fun but, though I worked in a cinema during the second one, I didnt get around to seeing the other recent movies. If MM carries on after 3 I'm sure that'll be a good time too.

Patrick

Please Americn History X. And have you seen The Taming of the Shrew? Very good classic

Oleg

She (Julianne Moore) looks familiar because you just saw her as Maude Lebowski. alongside Dieter (Peter Stormare), who played one of the phony nihilists from the band Autobahn =) Also, I never noticed that Hammond's butler was Mr. Pitt from Seinfeld! I was surprised that the only thing that made me feel old while watching this was how YOUNG Vince Vaughn looked!

Lucky Card

That would be great for the Halloween season coming up.

Milvo

They already watched the first but they should watch the others πŸ‘

Blackwargreymon00

Great Reaction for Jurasic Park Lady Munchies, can I recommend you see........The Lost Boys? Its one of those genX 80s culture defining vampire flick with the "Cory" brothers.

Mark W

This one is my favorite. Thanks for your always awesome reactions πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š

Johnny Sondergard

After Jurassic Park franchise can you do, The Naked Gun next? Since there's a new one out this year, there's four films total. Or John Wick series, you've only watched the first movie. There's four films total as well.

Milvo

Cannot wait to watchhhhhhhh

Daryl

Hyped! All the sequels are fun

Alvaro Garza

Dragonzord_Reptar
