Godzilla: King of the Monsters Reaction

Godzilla: King of the Monsters Reaction

Comments

The reaction that I was really looking forward to the most, was when Mothra emerges in her final form. These ladies did not disappoint. I'm just sorry that they didn't get to see it on the big screen. I got to, on opening night and it was truly majestic and gave me literal chills. LOL

Even though it's not a horror movie, I found ORPHAN creepier than most horror movies.

Munchies! Please don't skip "Kong Skull island" before watching the "Godzilla/Kong" movies! Happy monstering! ✌

Tywin's character "Long live the king", Hella's reply "Fuck you Tywin".😂 I think Ivy has really lost her heart to Godzilla. Although I'm afraid she'll send Godzilla on a stepper first so he loses a few tons.😅 For me this is the best movie in the Monsterverse. Godzilla vs Kong and Godzilla x Kong The New Empire have more crazy monster fights but I think King of the Monsters has the best mix of story and monster fights. Big praise to the special effects team, the monsters look really great. Especially the villains. With Ghidorah every head looks unique and you can see that each head has its own personality. Then there's Rodan, he probably got the biggest Titan glow up. In the Japanese movies he's more of a second-tier villain. In this movie he is a force of nature and to me his face always looks a bit like he has that wicked grin. He submits when he has to, but he's just waiting for his chance to become king himself. The scene where Dr. Serizawa saves Godzilla is, in a way, a tribute to the original Godzilla movie from 1954. In the original movie, there's also a Dr. Serizawa who gives his life at the bottom of the sea to kill Godzilla, and in this movie, Dr. Serizawa gives his life to save Godzilla. I'm glad you're continuing with the Monsterverse. Remember to look for Loki in Kong Skull Island.😉 That was an awesome reaction, ladies, as always.💜

King Ghidorah (as known in Japan), Mothra and Rodan are from Toho Studios Godzilla films (all the other monsters were created for this film). Ghidorah, Mothra and Rodan first appeared in 1950's and 1960's Godzilla Films. There are MANY different monsters throughout the Japanese Godzilla films franchise. The 3 monsters used in this film are the most popular. King Kong is an American creation, going back to 1933. This film is alright, but Godzilla Minus One was better. I'm a Godzilla fan since childhood.

Dang, Ivey really likes Godzilla. Vera Farmiga plays Emma, the mother who wants to release all the Titans. She stars in some great movies. I absolutely think you would love the film ORPHAN 2009. Some say that's a horror movie, but it's more of a thriller to me. Vera Farmiga does star in a series of horror movies called THE CONJURING (2013) is the first one, but I think there are two sequels so far, and several spin-offs. Millie Bobby Brown plays Emma, the daughter. She's most famous for playing in the Netflix Series STRANGER THINGS. Maybe after Game of Thrones, that would be good to react to. It's very popular, and the final season comes out later this year. Kyle Chandler plays the dad. He's most famous for an American TV show called Friday Night Lights. It's a great show but maybe we wouldn't enjoy it because it's about American Football. But, he is in a hilarious movie-GAME NIGHT (2018).

Since when was the Peter Jackson King Kong canon to this?

In fairness, I think they were just trying to be true to the original, but yeah not great. Serious, somber tone: Instead of the fun, over-the-top monster battles people might expect, the film aims for a more serious, almost somber mood, which can feel less exciting if you want pure spectacle. Human drama-heavy: Some viewers found the human characters underdeveloped or unengaging, which made the slower parts less compelling. The slower pacing, heavier focus on human drama, and a more serious, somber tone in Godzilla (2014) were very much in line with the original 1954 Gojira

I wish Ivy a long and happy life as Mrs Godzilla!

Patrick

Yes, the 2 boring ones are now done, love the monsters, hate the pacing of the first 2 legendary films. The 1998 Godzilla while not being a great Godzilla film is better than these 2 as its a lot more entertaining

Imperial Mort

Agreed! He's also the director of Lord of The Rings! Worth the watch!!!

Daryl

Plus in my opinion Kong Skull Island is a great movie.

Looney

This was such an amazing movie when it came out! Before you move onto the next one, you gotta check out Kong Skull island because that big skyscraper climbing ape plays his big role in the monsterverse movies!

I think you need to watch "King Kong" (2005 by Peter Jackson) before you watch more monster movies

Johnny Sondergard

I'm so glad I have the day off from work. I'll be right with you to watch along as soon as I'm done with my errands. I remember when the final trailer for this movie dropped on my birthday, I took it as a sign that I needed to be there for opening night. I made it happen and it was a great time! :)

DesertSwordsman

Oooh this will be a fun watch.

Looney

All thats left now are Kong: Skull Island and the two Godzilla/Kong films.
