Joker Reaction

Joker Reaction

Comments

When I first saw this movie, I left the theater feeling like I'd been through train wreck. Joaquin Phoenix is one of the greats.

TippedDuke

never been to N.Y. I take it

Gregory A Mann

Great reaction Munchies.

Ervin Cortez

This move shows the injustices of the world perfectly.

It's interesting that the Jokers first two kills in the subway were self defense and completely legal. He would even have witnesses to support that. He would get charged for that 3rd guy though, can't chase someone down like that, and an illegal possession charge because he should not have had the gun.

Manospondylus

One thing to remember is this is just the world through his perspective. Often times evil people justify their behavior based on perceived wrongs done to them. This movie isn’t meant to show that these things all objectively happened to him, but rather, how he perceived it all and why he felt the way he did. This goes for the events beyond his clear delusions. For example tone of voice or word choice, can make people perceive people differently than their intentions. What might be a friendly or happy person might be perceived as rude or arrogant. This goes for events in the film surrounding Thomas Wayne especially. Aside from the objectively false relationship Jokers mother claimed, the behavior of Thomas Wayne is only depicted here through the interpretations of the “opposition”. The people who hate him, for various reasons, such as his wealth, happy family, or status in society. Just like in the real world, it’s all very much grey, and it’s the misunderstandings between groups which create division. Not necessarily objective actions or statements.

Loved your thoughts at the end of the movie. You girls are both very intelligent. Love it.

Paul De'Armond

This one was a little early since they will be releasing a part 2 soon. Called Joker: Folie À Deux. But love the reaction. It looks like some scenes were hard to watch because the deaths are very realistic but i'm proud you guys made it through. hahaha Maybe watch a comedy before you guys get into all the scary halloween movies! hahaha Love you guys!!!

N2Joker

Nice job. I think your analysis is correct.

"This is a psycho hospital." 😆

Manospondylus

The Dark Knight trilogy is a seperate comic book/story to the regular Batman comics. This movie is a different interpretation and doesn't link to what happened in the Dark Knight movies.

“I used to think my life was a tragedy, but now I realize it’s a comedy.” ~ Joker

Proto Type

The city of Gotham is the real villain in this movie. Arthur is the anti-hero.

Eric Muirhead

Nobody really enjoys seeing a man pushed to insanity by mental illness, child abuse, and harassment. But the majority of the earths population can relate in some way or another and thats why it's one of the highest grossing movies of all time. I agree, it was expertly made.

N2Joker

Now do Walk the Line! Two completely different characters Joaquin Phoenix played 🤣

Daryl

“Beau is afraid” is another (polarizing) but equally shocking film. (It also includes the same actor Joaquin Phoenix as the lead.) But again amazing reaction from you both! Made my day

Tyler T

Do I think this is an expertly made film? Yes. Do I enjoy watching it? No. No I do not. I did enjoy the reaction though.

As mentioned, this movie isn't exactly related to other Batman movies like the Dark Knight trilogy. It's more of a standalone movie set within the universe, which uses some of the same Batman ideas and characters. So the Thomas Wayne in this movie isn't tied to the Thomas Wayne from the Dark Knight trilogy, and the same for other characters. Still, it is a fun exploration of an alternate Joker character, which I enjoyed it a lot! This is one of those movies where you could endlessly speculate about the actual truth of Thomas Wayne and the mother, along with what scenes were real vs only in Joker's imagination.

Brandon

I remember falling asleep through this one. Ima give it another try

One of you girls should hug Hella and tell her its ok. Maybe a break from the serious Batman movies would be good, I suggest Batman Returns or Batman Forever with Jim Carrey more fun movies.

Imperial Mort

It's not clear that he was adopted, it's intentionally ambiguous, the strongest hint the other way being the photo signed TW. I see it more likely that Wayne could fake adoption documents than Penny could adopt a child in her situation, but it can deliberately be read either way.

S M

Would love to see what you guys think of the newest batman film.

Michael Fredrick Malone

This movie references/is inspired by many movies but 2 main ones are 'Taxi Driver' (1976) and 'The King of Comedy' (1982) Both of these movies star Robert De Niro who plays Murray in this movie.

That's not really the same Joker as in The Dark Knight. In comic books there are always many different versions of a character and this is one version of Joker. But I think the movie believably tells how a character like Joker can come about. And Joaquin Phoenix plays the role brilliantly, what a great actor. Did you recognize the actor? He played Commodus in Gladiator. It's hard to believe that was already 24 years ago. I always interpreted the twist to mean that Joker's adoptive mother was mentally ill. When she adopted Frank he was still completely healthy. It was only through the abuse by the mother's boyfriend and the fact that she ignored his suffering and told him to laugh more instead of helping him that he was so damaged that he developed his mental illness. And he realized that when he read the file in the hospital and that finally broke him completely. Another fantastic reaction from you ladies, keep up the good work.💜

Digitalversager

Probably one of the best Films Joaquin Phoenix has ever been in.

It's so interesting the differences between Chi and Hella. Chi always tries to analyse the emotional parts of movies logically, and i can see it breaks Hella's immersion in the emotional parts as Hella is like a sponge, she absorbs emotions. It appears Chi's way of dealing with emotion is to try and analyse it logically. The two of them are so different!

Simon

Yesssss, omg i'm so excited for this! This is a good one!
