Signed Stills for February!

Hey guys, there's been a delay in sending out the signed stills for this round of rewards.

Noo! WHY YOU DO THIS!?

We did have them all signed and ready to go at the start of the month but we have a team member named Joel. Joel decided to sign them all on the front instead of the back where everyone else did theirs.

So? It's not that big of a deal right?

WRONG! It is a travesty! How could you possibly expect us to send out tainted signed photos?! We have since ordered a new batch to ease the collective OCD that our team has endured.

So we can expect them soon right!?

Yes. Sort of... Some of our team members are currently ill. This means we have to wait for them to get better before sending them out. Don't worry though, they will be with you as soon as is humanely possible!

Thank you for understanding. We are absolutely making a bigger deal out of this than it needs to be.

VILLAGER NEWS: THE GIANT PROBLEM

Hey guys, this is what we've been working on for so long. It is such a relief for us to finally put this out there into the world. The initial reaction has been amazing. We can't wait to get back to work, we'll be working on part 2 immediately!

Villager News - The GIANT Problem! - A message to EVERYONE!

Hey guys! We know, it's been a long time since we posted on here! We started Patreon back in 2015, right when the platform launched but after just a few months, we vanished!

Main reason for that:

We bit off more than we could chew, we did. We were such a small team back then and we were creating animated videos twice a month (at a huge personal sacrifice for a lot of the team). We had also reluctantly agreed to do some animation work for a company at the time which became a far bigger and tedious job than we first anticipated. It took up every waking moment for about 7 months so we couldn't give any attention to our channel or Patreon.

The whole thing was a learning experience for us. We've since gained a much more stable (and healthy) work schedule. Our team has shifted around a little, we've lost some people but gained others. We know what we can do and what we can't and our core aim stays the same:

We want to make awesome content for you guys!

..and we love what we do. It makes us happy, we get to bring ideas and characters to life!

Unfortunately for us, YouTube is becoming increasingly hostile towards animators. In the last few years YouTube has:

Decreased the percentage of ad-revenue for all creators.
Moved to a watch-time based monetisation, meaning shorter videos (like ours) don't get served any premium ads.
Created THE ALGORITHM. This has affected us the most, we don't show up in searches as much as we used to. A lot of our subscribers don't see our videos in their feeds, again, mostly down to watch-time. The algorithm only cares about quantity, not quality.
Responded to the AD-POCALYPSE with crazy strict rules. Absolutely everything must be kid-friendly now. Our content is 99% kid-friendly anyway, we're firm believers that you can be funny without needing adult subjects or foul language but that doesn't mean that we agree with this rule, creators should be able to create what they want.

This has had a massive impact on our channel, up until now we've been relying mostly on client projects to allow us to keep going. But we want to focus entirely on our channel. To do that, we're gonna need your help again!

There are plenty of other things we could complain about when it comes to YouTube but we'd rather focus on the good stuff...like the fact that we're back on Patreon and VILLAGER NEWS will be out on FRIDAY!

We have changed our tiers on Patreon and we're now doing monthly rewards, not just rewards based on when we release a video. We will be sending rewards out regardless of whether we have released a video, every month.

If you are still a patron of ours from before, you might get charged, so make sure if you're not interested in supporting us anymore to cancel your pledge so this doesn't happen. If you have been charged and no longer wish to support us, please send us a message and we will be happy to refund you.
