The Cable Guy Reaction

The Cable Guy Reaction

Comments

The Austin Powers movies with Mike Myers are fun to watch

Francisco

I’d love to see you girls watch another Jim Carrey movie, Batman Forever (1995)

Michael Honscar

Jim Carrey reccommendations: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Cable Guy was his first forray into more serious roles, but Eternal Sunshine is where he became a serious actor.

Sollidottingen

Comedy recommendations: Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

Sollidottingen

I think you would enjoy D&D Honor Among Thieves

loogy

If you want to see another Jim Carrey comedy and you haven’t seen the Grinch yet I would definitely recommend that

Ned

For comedy films, you should definitely watch Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. I'd also love to see reaction to Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. Also in this film, "the babysitter" refers to television. The Cable Guy's mother just left him alone watching tv. That's why he's obsessed with it. I love your reactions , keep up the good work.

Stu

Here are my movie suggestions: - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: Another great Jim Carrey movie with him in a dramatic role. Incredibly unique and fascinating movie. - Pan's Labyrinth: Beautiful and dark fantasy movie with an incredibly emotional story. Just amazing all around! - The Nightmare Before Christmas: A great movie for Halloween. Amazing music and just an all-around classic! - Arrival: Fantastic sci-fi movie with an emotional & deep story.

Chris

Kingpin or euro trip

Angrytoybox

You ask for some ideas for movies: You could release Game of Thrones reactions 2 at a time since it would be about the same length as a film. (and you'd get through the series faster so you could start House of the Dragon sooner) Platoon Oppenheimer and other Academy Award films: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Academy_Award%E2%80%93winning_films You could also look at the Avengers series.

Michael J

Comedy movies, well here we go. Freddy Got Fingered (2001) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989) Caddyshack (1980) Super (2010) "shut up crime" Kick-Ass (2010) Road Trip (2000) Bean (1997) Johnny English (2003)

King Bob

Exactly

Jozsef Csatajszki

Honestly, I wish we had some Jim Carrey monster movies. Can you imagine his version of IT? Yall shout react to IT. That's a good movie for October.

Cornelius P. Stranglefart, Attorney at Law D.D.S.

Rocky is such a great film. I think a lot of people are turned off because they think it will be about boxing, but it's so much more than that.

Steven Roy

The big leblowsky, rocky ( Sylvester Stallone ) and kingpin with woody hardoldson ( unrated.). excellent movies.

Jozsef Csatajszki

Legend directed by Sir Ridley Scott Starring Tom Cruise. (fantasy love story)

Mark W

Rat Race is one of the funniest movies out there, you'd love it!

Bare Thomas

I think Child's Play is so fun. it's a classic horror film, and Brad Dourif, doing the voice of Chucky, does such an awesome job. M3GAN has a lot of similarities.

Steven Roy

Watch suspense movies, you will love them. I'd start with Misery, with Kathy Bates. You'll love it.

Mike G

Very interesting to see Tien and Hella reactions contrast with one another during this movie. This movie is very divisive with Jim Carrey fans over how creepy is too creepy for a comedy. So it was interesting to see that contrast happen live with you two! Tien was expressing more discomfort with his creepiness. Hella was laughing more at the absurdity of his creepiness. Personally this isn’t one of my favorite Jim Carrey movies but it is a good movie and is interesting to watch how someone crazy can manipulate others.

fan

Good mention there of Uncle Buck [1989]... good to see someone else mention it for them.

S_Vive

I almost included it in my suggestions in response to Hella's request... glad to see someone else mention it for them.

S_Vive

Good mention there of Tommy Boy [1995]... it doesn't normally get much attention in most circles.

S_Vive

Ok, having read through all the comments so far and oddly not seeing it mentioned for Hella's request before the reaction, for the genre of comedies —which the Hella/Tien team-up seem to react well with— I'll start off a few classic suggestions with Ferris Bueller's Day Off [1986] as it also features Matthew Broderick. A few other such possibles from prior listings for Hella & Tien * could include... A Fish Called Wanda [1988] A League of Their Own [1992] Better Off Dead [1985] Big [1988] Blind Date [1987] Captain Ron [1992] Doc Hollywood [1991] Encino Man [1992] Funny Farm [1988] Kindergarten Cop [1990] ** So I Married an Axe Murderer [1993] The Sandlot [1993] Three Amigos! [1986] What About Bob? [1991] *(though Chi needs comedies, too) **(though it features what could be the most horrifying kiss of Schwarzenegger's movie career)

S_Vive

I think you would enjoy- Rat Race (2001) The Terminal (2004) Austin Powers (1997) As Good as it Gets (1997) What Women Want (2000)

S M

For your interest, I think they (or just Chi) did Hereditary already back in the early days of the channel.

S_Vive

You should watch all the Monty Python films.

Joe Laster

Clive Owen always seems to star in intriguing films, with Children of Men being no exception... and Patch Adams has always been a standout special type of story for me, as well as not more generally being known/favored by most people I've met over the years (regardless of whether or not they liked Robin Williams performances).

S_Vive

Up until they started into GoT, I always figured that they would do films and leave multi-season/series tv-format shows to be watched by Asian Angels... but that arrangement seems to be blurring, if it was ever a plan at all in the first place.

S_Vive

I would hope that they would watch the original before the more recent rendition... but unlike most remakes these days, the newer version is quite good on it's own and, being of the Western genre, largely doesn't offset the original with modernized changes. So I guess in this case it probably doesn't matter for the viewing order.

S_Vive

All of these are as good as any Jim Carrey movie. Meet The Parents (Ben Stiller) Good Morning Vietnam (Robin Williams) Benny and Joon (Johnny Depp) Tommy Boy (Chris Farley and David Spade) Billy Madison (Adam Sandler)

David Collins

Zoolander

Alec Dacyczyn

Comedy recommendation (often considered one of the best movies ever made): "Groundhog Day"

Kyle MacDougall

Add 'Child's Play' (1988). It was a horror movie. But nowadays it's more of a lighthearted comedy.

Alec Dacyczyn

+1 to Ghostbusters and The Addams Family.

Alec Dacyczyn

Is that good to a non fallout fan? I’m a huge fallout fan so naturally I liked it but curious how outsiders view it

fan

The Big Lebowski Brick It Follows Andor The Babadook

colin summers

How have you guys not watched "Yes Man" 2008 yet? Great Jim Carrey movie.

N2Joker

Please, God... No more Jim Carrey

Paul De'Armond

Good comedies Uncle buck National lampoon’s family vacation Clerks Talledega nights Step brothers Big daddy Happy Gilmore Joe dirt Bad santa There is the tv show it’s always sunny in Philadelphia

Chris W

You should watch “flowers of war” it stars Christian bale it’s about the Japanese occupation of China in ww2 Another really good movie is “what’s eating Gilbert grape” stars Leonardo, DiCaprio and Johnny Depp A good comedy is “heavy weights “ it’s about a fat camp has Ben, Stiller “Gangs of New York” is really good to has Leonardo DiCaprio and Daniel Day Lewis, as well as Cameron Diaz Blood diamond is also great has Leonardo DiCaprio he plays a diamond smuggler in Africa “Black hawk down “ is a really good war movie to Kickboxer Is really good it’s a action movie where a guy jean-Claude Van Damme Avenges his brother after he is crippled in a Thai boxing match

Chris W

Tucker and Dale vs Evil is so great. It's so funny and the movie has a really nice message.

Steven Roy

For Halloween, I think you would enjoy 'The Addams Family' (1991), 'Death Becomes Her' (1992), 'Hocus Pocus' (1993) and 'Casper' (1995)

S M

COMEDIES: 1 - If Looks Could Kill ( Richard Grieco ) 2 - Shallow Hall ( Jack Black ) 3 - Mad House ( Kirsty Alley ) Thanks Munchies, great reactions.

Ervin Cortez

Also I strongly recommend "Punch Drunk Love" with Adam Sandler. It is one of of my most favorite movies of all time. Trailer here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGqn5k227HY

Eric Muirhead

One of my childhood favorites here, really enjoyed watching it with you ladies! I would love to see your reactions to the movies Backdraft (1991) and Twister (1996) even though they aren't comedy movies. In terms of comedies, you might enjoy Zoolander (2001) and Idiocracy (2006).

Brandon

Here are a few light-hearted and fun movies for Halloween: 1. The Addams Family (1991 Comedy, Fantasy) 2. Dark Shadows (2012 Comedy, Fantasy, Horror) 3. Ghostbusters (1984 Action, Comedy, Fantasy, Sci-Fi) 4. Haunted Mansion (2003 Comedy, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery) 5. Hotel Transylvania (2012 Animation, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Horror) 6. Monster House (2006 Animation, Comedy, Fantasy) 7. ParaNorman (2012 Animation, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Mystery)

Lee Pitman

Thank you for doing this movie, it's one of my favorites, I didn't think Tien would get so emotionally invested and yes as people have said the TV IS the babysitter, that's why he said 'someone's got to kill the babysitter' before jumping down towards the satellite dish, I think with the invention of the internet and people becoming more separate from each other, there are lots of Chip Douglas's out there. You could always watch some of the X-Men movies, especially if you want to react to Deadpool and Wolverine down the line (considering the deadpool reaction is the most viewed reaction on your channel I imagine you will), start with X-Men (2000), if you want horror movies, A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) is a classic, if you want a different type of movie to react to I really like the way you girls react to romantic storylines so I submit the classic romantic movie Roman Holiday (1953) it's a bit older than what you usually react to but I think you would like it and it would be a change of pace, there's a lot of good old movies if you look for them, of course you could always just react to the marvel cinematic universe starting with Iron Man, that way you'd be set for 34 films or so and those films are very popular, one more recommendation if you want more comedy, react to some Eddie Murphy films, when I was a kid I idolized both Jim Carrey and Eddie Murphy, my favorite movies of his are Beverly Hills Cop (and the sequels ignoring the third one), The Nutty Professor, Bowfinger and Trading Places.

Jonathan Kidman

"What we do in the Shadows" is my favorite horror comedy. "Tucker and Dale vs Evil" is a close second

Cornelius P. Stranglefart, Attorney at Law D.D.S.

True. Also, I would also love to see them react to The Last of Us.

Cornelius P. Stranglefart, Attorney at Law D.D.S.

I think yall would like the Coen brothers movies. True Grit is one I would recommend.

Cornelius P. Stranglefart, Attorney at Law D.D.S.

The "Fallout" series is really good.

Eric Muirhead

That or since October is rolling around “American Psycho” which is kind of a black comedy

Tyler T

My recommendations: 1. The Departed 2. Deep Impact 3. The Revenant 4. Children of Men 5. Patch Adams

Daryl

DAMN Tien cryin got me hahahahaha, STOP IT, he only saved the world yeesh

Thalanoth

It really is. I love the vibe and editing in Edgar Wright films.

Steven Roy

I think the girls would enjoy the SCREAM movies. NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET is also a classic and made by the same director as Scream, Wes Craven. I love the first two Hellraiser movies, but think CANDYMAN might make a better reaction, and Candyman is very similar to Betelgeuse. If you want to meet him, you just have to say his name three times.

Steven Roy

Hot Fuzz is so good, also Shaun of the dead is great as well

Which Witch is Which

Since Halloween is fast approaching, and everyone here already has some decorations up, it really feels like Spooky Season where I live, I'll suggest some horror movies, but I'll categorize them for you so you know what you're getting into. SCARY BUT FUN M3GAN - This was very popular in the US a few years ago, and actually has some similarities to Cable Guy, but instead of TV raising a child it's left to an Artificial Intelligence. It's not very scary but very fun. It's like Terminator but make it cute. READY OR NOT - A woman is forced into a dangerous game by her in-laws on her wedding night. I don't want to say more, but it's a lot of fun. HOT FUZZ - This one is barely scary. It's a fun take on the classic horror film The Wicker Man, and it's wonderfully directed by Edgar Wright. ABIGAIL - A very recent film. The trailer will ruin it, so don't watch that, but a group of criminals abduct a young girl and will soon regret many of their life choices. ACTUALLY SCARY BARBARIAN - A woman stays the night in an Airbnb but someone is already there. MIDSOMMAR - Worse vacation ever and worse break-up ever. TALK TO ME - What would happen if teenagers had a supernatural artifact that allowed them to talk to ghosts? Nothing good. Nothing good happens. MALIGNANT - This movie is not scary to me, and the twist is absolutely bonkers, but others have found it scary. NOPE - Actually any movie directed by Jordan Peele would be good, but I think this would make the best reaction. YOU MAY NEVER RECOVER HEREDITARY - If you think your family is messed up, just watch this movie and you'll feel better. EVIL DEAD (2013) - I see the actress who starred in this all the time at my local coffee shop, and it's always a little weird. WHEN EVIL LURKS - I double-dare everyone to watch this movie.

Steven Roy

Nacho Libre and School of Rock are top tier Jack Black movies that I love for a good laugh

Gunteric

Definitely react to “the room” by Tommy Wiseau (03) lol

Tyler T

You should check out 21 Jump Street (2012)

Which Witch is Which

You guys NEED to watch the Austin Powers movies with Mike Myers!! I know you guys will have a great time with them

mundanelotus

They just did Mary on Asian Angels

Imperial Mort

You two should definitely watch the comedy: There's Something About Mary

Bjørnar

The babysitter was the TV so that all he knew he never interacted very much with real people

Imperial Mort

Tien, to me it always seemed like the TV was the babysitter. Movie recommendations. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013 Version with Ben Stiller). It has a similar message to Cable Guy, but it's about a different distraction from life. I don't want to say too much so as not to give away spoilers, but it's far more positive than Cable Guy. Oblivion, very good and often overlooked science fiction movie with Tom Cruise. And it also stars the actor who plays Jaime Lannister. Zombieland, awesome horror/comedy with a strong focus on comedy. The Ring (the American remake), Sinister and It Follows are all good horror movies for Halloween. The Bourne trilogy + The Bourne Legacy and Jason Bourne are great spy movies with good action and an exciting story. Inception, Christopher Nolan movie with Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead role. Great reaction as always ladies!💜

Digitalversager

React to "Click" with Adam Sandler

Rollie253

Batman Forever for a Jim Carry Movie, The Muppet Movie I'd love to see you do, Laberinth, The Gods must be Crazy, The Blues Brothers, Batman Returns, Weird Science, My Science Project, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1990, The Addams Family and Flash Gordon

Imperial Mort

To be honest I don't watch Star Wars to explore relationships between characters, It should be about war when was the last time Star Wars really felt like a war?

Imperial Mort

Good one! THE GRAY is another good survival movie

Nathanial House

Different strokes for different folks. And that's ok.

Nathanial House

Of course my main suggestion is The Edge (1997) bear survival movie, it is basically none existent in the reaction space. Kodiak bears can get 700+kilograms and stand over 300cm. Real monsters.... It's easily my favorite survival movie.

Manospondylus

Another good stalker movie: FEAR. But with Halloween (in America) coming up soon, I'd recommend starting the SAW series... starting the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET series... HELLRAISER series... THE NUMBER 23 (Jim Carrey)... BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA... LET THE RIGHT ONE IN... HOSTEL... REPO: THE GENETIC OPERA... the SCREAM series... CUJO... PET SEMETRY... THE CHILDREN OF THE CORN... THE HILLS HAVE EYES... the FRIDAY THE 13th series... THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE series... there's a lot of classics out there.

Nathanial House

I think they would love the short Obi Wan miniseries. It really explores the relationship between Vader and Obi-Wan, and no spoilers but I just know they would adore the young female main character.

Jef Etters

I recommend that one every chance I get.

Nathanial House

Continue Star Wars!!

Joshua delrey

Watch ✨️ (big Trouble in Little China) ✨️ it is one funniest movies that i have seen 😊

Blackwargreymon00

You asked for some recommendations for movies at the beginning, so here's a few I'd enjoy seeing you guys watch. Jingle All The Way (Christmas comedy with Arnold Shwarzenegger) Drive (Action Thriller with Ryan Gosling) Nightcrawler (Another thriller, Jake Gylenhaal) The Grand Budapest Hotel (Adventure/Comedy by Wes Anderson) Austin Powers series (Comedy, starring Mike Myers) I already mentioned this on the Dark Knight video, but the Sam Raimi Spider Man movies Underworld (Action fantasy with Kate Beckinsale) King Kong (2005 by Peter Jackson, his first movie after Lord of the Rings) Maybe some Disney movies, like Toy Story and Shrek Oh, and just remembered Meet the Parents/Meet the Fockers (Comedies, Ben Stiller from Tropic Thunder)

Ashley

i remember when this came out in the movies and I hated it lol but I know some people like it, each to his own I guess. People like different things.

King Bob

They love Jim Carrey. I would suggest Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind for a serious one.

Jef Etters

This one is more of a dark comedy, but it's still funny. The ladies are definitely enjoying the Jim Carrey journey. Keep going ladies!
