It's nice to see hela really trying to analyze the movie! It's not really a movie that needs analyzing though... Blade is good because he fight vampires. Vampires are bad because they feed on humans. That's the whole morality of the movie.

By 1998, the Batman movies had petered out, becoming progressively more silly, following the same pattern as the earlier Christopher Reeves Superman films. Blade set the tone for the Marvel movies, which while still true to their comic book roots managed to take themselves more seriously, focusing on characters and engaging dramatic stories about these incredible characters. Before the start of the MCU proper, audiences got to see the Blade trilogy, several X-men movies, Ang Lee's Hulk and Ghost Rider, all featuring characters that were far lesser known than Superman and Batman and stories that were more focused on being character driven. If there's any connection between the Marvel and DC films at all, I'd say that Blade and X-men set a look and tone that inspired the intensely dramatic Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy. From the same general time period, you also had the incredible Lord of the Rings trilogy, which while not a comic book movie, reinforced the idea that fantasy stories can be dramatically serious. All of these influences were essentially prequel to 2008's Iron Man and the MCU's fabulous Infinity War arc, which made Marvel's cast of little known characters into household names while DC films have struggled since the Nolan trilogy.

That's exactly why Blade set up the new era of comic book films. If a character that the public had little awareness of could be profitable, then studios were willing to do more comic book movies, like the X-Men. Superman and Batman were easy, everybody had heard of them, and those two series got incredibly bad after the first movies.

What actually set the stage for Marvel was Superman from 1978, followed by Batman in 1989. Blade wasn't familiar to the general public as being an adaptation of a comic book character.

Yep, you're right; for Snipes films Demolition Man has been previously mentioned for them... as well as Passenger 57 and US Marshals (but with the latter only after they've seen The Fugitive).

I think you ladies would like Blade 2. Although a few of the 'other' types of vampires are a little more gross. It has even more action than the first movie, and a more in depth story. Plus the beginning of the movie will make you happy. Blade was one of the earliest Marvel character movies that was actually successful. Most of the other early Marvel movies flopped because of low budget, poor scripts, and bad acting. Blade did everything right and has been a classic ever since. Great reaction as always. ❤️

The intro was so funny.😅 Great reaction ladies.💜
Blade 2 is pretty good, I personally like it even better than the first part.
If you want to see more from Wesley Snipes I can recommend Demolition Man. Sylvester Stallone, the lead actor from Rambo First Blood, is also in Demolition Man.
