2024-06-04 19:28:30 +0000 UTCI hope you watch "Forbidden Planet". It's the first movie that had faster than light travel and the first movie to feature a world outside the Solar System, and it's based on a Shakespeare play "The Tempest". But most of all, it's a truly great movie.

So I can only say that the movies are ~ just ok, as a standalone product. The books are next level considering the time period when they were written \m/

2024-06-03 00:57:16 +0000 UTCThe Water of Life causes Bene Gesserits to become aware of all of the memories of their ancestors as well as those that are transferred to them by other dying Reverend Mothers. And if she is pregnant then it will have the same effect on the fetus. It will instantly have adult memories. And it will not have grown up by itself and gained independent willpower. This will become a major plot point of the next movie (assuming they make it). She will be called Alia. And the evil "spirit" of Baron Harkonnen will take over her mind like a kind of demonic possession. The Bene Gesserit are aware of this danger. That's why when they realized that Jessica was pregnant at the end of the Water of Life ritual they were shocked said "What have we done?" and "abomination." Don't worry about the Paul/Chani relationship. His marriage to the princess will be purely political. They won't even live on the same planet most of the time. He will keep Chani as his royal concubine. They will have two kids together, who will be very important in future movies (if they are made).
