This week I wanted to write something different, so I started at a slower bpm and went for a different vibe. I think it turned out pretty good. This idea is dancey, but with a variation on the usual 4-on-the-floor house beat. It's unique, but it's got some familiar bits to it. The chorus section needs work, but the idea is solid nonetheless. I like it and I'd like to return to the project, although it's not at the top of the list.

This week's session started with some atmosphere and a drum groove. I pulled influences from some genres I'm not used to like Hyperpop (which formed the background atmosphere) and ambient/glitch (which is one of the drum texture layers). From there I came up with a jazzy, melancholic chord progression that felt nice for a progressive/melodic house song.
I think the idea is decent and it came together nicely, but I'm not the biggest fan of the main melody. I'm hoping to return to this on...

This week's session was all over the place. I wrote several ideas but wasn't feeling pulled in any particular direction. I eventually settled on this bouncy chord-pluck idea and put more work into it. After several hours and some work off stream, I ended up with a decent idea. This week, I wanted to focus on something darker. I started out with some cinematic drums, a bunch of atmosphere layers, and a basic EDM beat. This week's session was a bit of a scramble. I wrote a pretty interesting chord progression with a decent melody, but struggled to find a solid direction. This week's session went well, but I needed some time after the stream to finalize the idea. Though it needs work, I am pretty pleased with what I came up with. It's got some interesting emotions to it, some unique arpeggiated synth parts, and of course some piano in the break. This week's session had some ups and downs. I fumbled at the start trying to find an idea worth pursuing but eventually found something worthwhile in an arpeggiated synth. Everything else from the track was built out from the arp. This song has a feeling of momentum and pushing forward. It' s a pretty promising idea and I'm planning on returning to it.

This week's session was interesting. Generally, it felt incoherent and a bit misguided but I did end up with a full idea. It's alright, but I'm just not sure it's strong enough to return to. That said, I do like some of the drum layers and the FX in this one. So even if I don't return to, I'll definitely be able to repurpose those bits.

This week was an interesting one. A long initial session on stream with many ups and downs resulted in a pretty promising idea. I spent a couple of hours after cleaning up the idea and adding effects and at the end of it all, the song is almost finished. It needs some proper sound design and a good mix/master, but I really like how this one turned out. I'll definitely be finishing it.

This week's session started out with a nice arpeggio and some interesting chords. I built the rest of the song out from here and added some unique chord rhythms that I don't typically write. After filling out a rough arrangement, I'm pretty happy with it. It gives me warm feelings during a snowy night in the middle of winter. This week's session started with a simple chord progression that I turned into an arpeggio. I then added a melody, arrangement, basic FX and finished up with a counter melody. I'm back and yesterday was my first session. During stream, I wrote some interesting parts while thinking about my trip, but something felt off and the song wasn't really gelling together. After stream, I sped up the tempo from 115bpm to 123bpm and it finally clicked into place.

This week's session was a long one and I essentially wrote 1.5 songs. I started with a chill and emotional intro and followed up with an upbeat and bouncy drop. Both ideas were built off the same initial chord progression, but they felt like 2 different songs. This week is the final single leading up to the release of Enchanted next week. "Life Can Never Break Me" is a special song because it represents what I needed to make it through the last year. Sometimes in life, when it rains it pours and last year was definitely one of those moments for me. This song is as much for me as it is for others - everything will be okay and you can get through it! I also really love all the guitar layers in this and I'm hoping to do more of that moving forward.

I absolutely love how this song came together. I wrote it last December about a night I spent a few years ago at a hot springs in the mountains here in Colorado. The stars bright overhead while relaxing in a beautiful, natural springs. This makes me think of winter and evokes an overall emotion of rejuvenation - a feeling that I have been reaching for a lot over the last year.

This week's song is a nice cinematic DnB track with ethereal atmosphere layers. I think I've used this vocal sample before, but it works very well in this one. The chord progression in this has 2 parts and I wanted to the break/build section to be very intimate, but I think it needs more to keep the pacing going.
