I agree with you completely, except the controlling game content still bothers me. They don't own the content, this is specifically said in the breakdown of their site. So they should not have access to the in game content without creator permission. This feels like they are forcing access to content that is not theirs to access. Like, give us access to your content or we will shut your page down, which is coercion. Admittedly, I am not a creator, so I don't know all the ins and outs when making something on this site, but it just feels like a violation of the creators intellectual property. On another note, the thing that was irking me, was some people saying it was a minor change. To myself, and I assume alot of people, it was not. Finally, my pledges are based on what I can afford to give. I do have confidence the creators of this type of content will come up with something. Because if they did not want to have this content, why even make a game with it in the first place? Anyways, that's just my two cents.

Speaking only for myself, I will say this in the simplest of terms. This is Patreon's sandbox. If we want to 'play' in it, we have to follow their rules. If we don't like their rules, then we just don't play in it. That being said, I support multiple developers that create similar content. As such, my support for these developers will not decrease because they are being forced to make the changes...my support for those developers has only INCREASED because they are trying to do what they can to keep their creations alive. To those of us who support them, let's be patient. They are creative, and as such...they will find creative solutions to any issues or problems that arise. HAVE FAITH N THEM! Keep up the great works of Art and Fantasy/Fiction!!

Yeah the people who keep saying the inc**t is a minor change, for alot of us it is a major change. The story is wonderful, but without those relationship dynamics, it doesn't have the same impact and completely changes the appeal and tone of the game.

I'm so sorry you're having to go through this for your game - its silly and no point going on the rant on historical precedents... I'm guessing they won't let you sneak in any links to uncensored versions of the game.. I've been wanting to make a game myself (by which I mean I keep working on it and running out of time) and had thought of how I might deal with censorship... Have you considered following the standard game industry model? Release the censored limited game, but then allow mods to exist that are not distributed or discussed by the parent game? ie how LoversLab has mods for Sims, TFGames for Crusader Kings, etc. You're not responsible for a file existing in sync with your game that can be copy-pasted over another file.... Just a thought.

Patreon specified you can't link/fund any website that has content not fitting their guidelines. I'm asking all of you, please, be a little bit more patient. A few days.

Take the time you need to finish it, don't rush anything. Patreon aren't very nice when they give you less than a weeks notice to change stuff so the delay is understandable. It's worth waiting for! Keep up the good work, you got a lot of support out here!

Because of the attraction of the plot and the characters, i'm willing to spend 40 dollars a month supporting you, and if you change the plot and character relationship, it's going to be another game. I also agree with the point of view, set up two dialogue texts, one on patreon, another can create a website independently to provide download links, such as y3df, for different players to choose, I am still willing to support you on patreon

Maybe add an option to change in-game text with text from a file and host the text file elsewhere. That way there is a non-incest version on patreon and everyone can still play the proper version.

So they actually have access to your game. That to me does not feel right. They don't own the game, you do. I get controlling content on the page because they own the page, but the game content itself they should have no say. I do appreciate your level headedness regarding this matter, but I would also fight them on it. You have creative control of your game, not them. They are very much overstepping their bounds. Your calm and measured response is appreciated, Lewdlab, as is your being upfront in communications with your supporters. I can empathize with the frustrations for you as a creator as the bureaucratic oversights could certainly be handled better but I get that, at the end of the day, this is Patreon's house and thus their rules as well. Anyone who thinks that Patreon itself isn't coming under scrutiny, having to answer to their own masters is fooling themselves and I don't believe it's worth the risk to attempt disingenuous circumvention. You do exceptional work and I remain invested in your future, whether here or elsewhere. I wish you luck in keeping intact as much of your artistic enterprise as you can manage.

Agreed simply allowing the users to modify the names and relationships of the characters as they choose while including a default that meets all of Patreon's limitations would probably be the best compromise. Of course I don't know how much additional work that type of change would force on top of what you already have to do/plan to do.

the reason why they put so much restrictions is because they dont need adult fictionals games and bet by the next year the adult games that are in patreon wont last because they would put more restrictions and make it hard on them but this is good because its on opportunity to find some other place where FICTIONAL GAMES ARE OK and dont have that much restrictions . PATREON RIGHT NOW DONT HAVE A COMPETITOR THAT COULD BE BY FAR THE BEST OPP FOR NEW COMMUNITIS TO CREATE A PLACE WHERE ADULT FICTIONAL S GAMES are welcome . remember anime didn't have community now they are the biggest community in the internet

hey why dont we find a better options like find some other place rather then patreon because i notice that now they are big they are trying to get rind of adult content . the weird thing is GAME OF THRONES and LOLITA IS OK wtf is wrong with them . Lolita is by no means mess up and games of thrones has almost everything that they are against them. i try to find some other place where people can create games freely with less restrictions remember GAMES are fictional NOT REAL last year they didnt have that much restrictions now they becoming a place where they dont need the community where i think was the first that help them be where they are now . shameful

Honestly, you should not defend Patreon. Now that they are big enough not to need the special adult sections, they want to cut it off. They could not do this earlier because guys like you were making alot, but now that they dont need you, the real Patreon comes out, and tries to clean themselves by removing "the dirt". When honestly, themselves are the dirty ones. Just lucky them there isn't really any other site with the same service yet,so you get the choice of bending over or walk away from everything.

It is a disgrace the way they are acting, perhaps if they used their brains and maybe had a section which clearly stated Adult section of Patreon or whatever. I would say the idea of setting up another website purely for such games etc is a must at this stage, like others i simply do not wish to support patreon in anyway but i do and will continue to support you but do please try and find a way not to change the game in the long run.

Red seriously? This stuff is not allowed here anymore and somebody would inplement a code to bypass this? ... I am sure there will be a solution for the "problem" ... i love the story as it is and i am here from EP 1 starting ... but this is not the end of anything and i am happy that there is a solution at all :-)

Yeah, this happened to another creator who did the same thing you are. Unfortunately I had to stop supporting him because he did a hardline cut and changed the characters relations completely, which isn't what I signed up for. As I had suggested to him, and I will suggest to you, would you perhaps think of including a code for $10 and higher supporters to alter the story back. Don't make it obvious what happens if you enter the code, simply label it "bonus content" and have it unlock the option to change the story to "as it was intended." If you'd humor the idea, I'd stick around, if not, I'd probably bow out.

Thanks for the info. It won't change my commitment to you; neither do I mind of any delays in any way. What I do start to mind however is financing Patreon as a byproduct to commiting my support to you and a few selected other developers. I've reached a point after all the controversity lately where I'd prefer to contribute to people like you directly, instead of supporting a platform that has proven to be unsupportive (their customers not being able to contact a representative), unfair and selective (like that some people got hammered and some not), and so on. Should there come up any alternative in how people like me could support people like you, I for once would go there.
