The Great Shitting -- err... SHIFT-ing

Deviantart, why must you make me angry?

for over a decade I've been building my Deviantart and I have just recently passed 3K watchers. I was pretty jazzed about that.

At the risk of sounding prideful, the first time I posted ageplay art to Deviantart I got about 200 favorites in about an hour. I had never received that must influx of notice so quickly, and I was happy to see that practically everything I've posted to DA has been met with equal, if not better, responses. Over the past decade I've received about 100 favorites on average on various pieces each day.

And then I started to stop getting notifications...

At first I was confused, perhaps it was just a dry spell, but it remained consistent. I wasn't worried about the amount favorites, I was more concerned as to why the sudden stop. So for the first time in years I went onto DA while logged OUT and looked at my profile... and I discovered that nearly all of my artwork has been flagged (in many cases wrongly) as mature and out of public eye view. I'm not the only one, as many people who I myself follow have been expressing similar sentiments.

It seems DA is going the same way at Tumblr, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and aaaaaaaaaaall the other companies which have nerfed their own platform for the sake of "advertiser-friendly content" and for hyper-sensitive cretins... I hope this bites them in the ass as badly as what happened to Tumblr.

Did you know that trigger warnings were put on our entertainment to protect people with epilepsy from seizures? Yeah. Now they have AI programs and scripts to automatically put warnings and censors on everything in order to protect every fragile little snowflakes' oversensitive feelings, and the entire landscape of art gets kneecapped because they are restricting our ability to share ideas. That's some seriously dangerous Orwellian shit, right there.

Sorry, I just really fucking hate censorship.

Soooo... Tumblr shat itself inside out and everyone migrated away from there. Now I'm feeling a mass migration off of DA is about to happen, which will suck. Because if that happens it means that means three thousand watchers, six thousand eyeballs will no longer routinely see my work, and the possibility of me growing this patron may take a massive hit. After all, nearly everyone who knows about my Patreon finds out about it through DA.

I won't be deleting my DA account, but I sense it will soon become solely a tool to promote Patreon.

On a more positive note, that means there will be more posting done exclusively for my Patrons! which means more stuff for you! If DA wants to censor my shit so nobody can see it, fine. I'll make my art for people who actively want to see it. I will also be re-posting my DA art to Patreon for public view, and hopefully Patreon won't go a similar way

So in closing I want to say thank you again for subscribing, always save the receipt but never get the warranty, and stay tuned for more!
