Deck 69 & Itch: News and WIPS

Deck 69

So Eurofurence 2025 is on September 3-6 and I got myself an art show slot. Now only to make some art...
My first and biggest piece will be a large print: A raunchy space station, teeming with furries and aliens. I love isometric games and I figured it would be cool to make a bit of a hidden object picture (or Wimmelbild).

This will be a mixed media endeavour: As you can see I am working on a voxel based background to fill with characters and greebles with regular 2d drawing, as that'll give me good iso geometry and nice lighting reference. The layout there isn't final and there are more rooms I need to add, not to mention draw all of the characters. You'll definitely get to see it here too.

The Credit Card Company Fiasco

I'm sure you've heard last weeks news about certain shadily motivated groups pushing payment processors to force Steam and Itch.io to remove NSFW games. Now I am all for protecting kids from adult material, but this is obviously driven by twisted moralism to purge the internet of all adult entertainment.

This honestly demotivated me heavily, since the continuing enshittification and encroaching on adult art is of course draining for people lke me. For a while I considered whether there is even any point in continuing to make my game if nobody gets to see it. I've resolved that the only right thing to do is to continue even if I have to personally hand deliver you all the lewds on a CD-R.

Fortunately, Itch has demonstrated good faith by relisting free NSFW content, which is fine by me, because the game will be free anyways eventually. Still, we need to keep being loud and visible about our right as adults to do adult things.
