Update... and a Very Candid Rant

Good news: Over the last two days, I've written more than in the last two months. I was feeling really good about the story I was working on. 

Unfortunately, that's much less important because this morning I woke up to this:

And it's just the latest in what's been a series of nearly every platform I use threatening to be pulled out from under me.

• Twitter - A shitshow. People leaving in droves and others clinging on while they hope for a better alternative.
• DeviantArt - Banned Karbo with no warning. If he's not safe, then no one is. None of my work has been taken down, but how can I feel comfortable working and posting my art if I can vanish from my audience of 13.5k watchers in a snap? Also, it's turning into a goddamn nightmare full of AI ghouls with incorrect anatomy and grotesque proportions and faces. 
• Patreon - I've lost count of the number of times their content guidelines have been 'updated' and 'clarified' in the time I've been here. The latest one was a few days ago and I'm still not sure if my work is okay or just flying under the radar.

But Gumroad is my main source of income. Gumroad's fee is 10% (double from what it was a year ago, but that's beside the point now). Compare that to dedicated adult content platforms like C4S who charge FORTY percent, and I'm left wondering if I can even afford to keep doing this. Whether that means making big changes to the way I monetize my work, or simply throwing in the towel and finding a new career entirely, I don't know. 

And this isn't even getting into my thoughts on AI (does anyone want to hear me lecture on the devaluing of creative labor in capitalist society?).

Or the several recent instances of illnesses and death in my family and loved ones that I don't want to get into (I don't want condolences, please).

So if you're wondering why it's taking me so long to publish the next story, it's because thinking about all of this makes it harder to come up with fun ways for giant women to squish tiny people.
