I'm Not Dead

Oh hi.

(Audio version of this message attached below for those of you who despise the written word.)

I just thought I might check in because I can, and because it’s been a little while. I’m not dead as yet, and – as per usual these days – sorry for the rather unexplained break in uploading.

It’s snowing in Sofia at the moment and everything is very cozy. The feline is finally sleeping in her allotted feline day bed (picture below).

I mentioned I was trying to work on something puppet-y and have the script, but the execution got tricky and: distractions. Instead I’m almost finished on a bit of a rallying call to get humans back to the moon that I hope you’ll enjoy in a week or so. It’s a bit more optimistic than usual and the whole thing was edited with the aforementioned feline on my lap (picture below).

There are t-shirts finally, and will be available shortly if all goes well. My brilliant book cover designer has outdone himself and stepped into being a brilliant t-shirt designer too. I’ve left some samples attached to this message for what should be coming.

In a rather impulsive moment I decided to steal his turtle (it was always a tortoise, but I’ve bowed to peer-pressure) design and update the channel logo. It looks 100000000x better and actually has character. I’ve noticed a spot of annoyance regarding this online. I’ll let it settle a little while and see what people think. I like the new turtle anyway.

The flu has kicked and is still kicking my ass. It coincided rather well timing-wise with certain other notable global flu panics at the moment, so I was a touch on edge for a week, but it seems fine. Please give me a little leeway with getting stuff out, I’m trying my jolly damndest.

Since you’re still reading, I’ll also throw a few recommendations out there per-usual of stuff I thought was neat recently.

A new show called Avenue 5 has just launched with Fry Laurie, written by one of my favourite humans in the world – Armando Iannucci. It’s about a…space disaster...but funny…? And it is funny. The first episode is not a good reflection, at least try to make it to the second if you bother with the thing; there’s potential there, I reckon.

Disco Elysium is perhaps the most immersive, intricate game I’ve tried in years and I think you’re going to like it too. You play as a depressive alcohol. Impossible role it was for me to get myself into. Took weeks. But seriously, fantastically crafted, and clearly years of love have gone into the thing – much recommended.

Finally, there’s a...web-story (?) I found years ago that rediscovering now I realise has inspired almost everything I’ve done since. It’s called All Tomorrows and it’s one of those unsung internet gems of the last decade, far as I’m aware. It charts human history thousands of years into the future, and, shall we say, lots of non-human human history too.

Right. New stuff coming as fast as I can get it out, please bear with me. All I can say with this new thing is I really, really fucking hope you like the moon.

As always, thank you for sticking by me with the support, it’s always much appreciated indeed and I hope you’re doing well wherever you are.

Ex.

(Bonus horror picture of feline also attached for those of you with disturbed minds. Much love.)

Just finished my second read of the fifth science. Such a great book. Is there still a way to purchase a paper copy of the prince of milk or bridge to Lucy Dunne from you Ex?
