Illustration #127 + rewards and doodles

Finally got this painting finished. ๐Ÿ˜„ I hope you find these creatures a little bit interesting. A little bit of lore I have behind them is that they're sort of a prototype species created through experimental conjuration or alteration magic. The people who created them disappeared ages ago, probably because of some experiments that went very wrong. So there isn't much known about them, but the species that resulted from their experiments all share signs of their creators being horny degenerates. ๐Ÿ˜

You can check out the rewards in the attachments here to see the painting process!

If you do check out the process you'll maybe notice things didn't go entirely as planned in the last half. I wasn't fully happy with where the painting was going, and when I feel that way I usually try to pivot in a way that helps me regain my motivation. So I tried a few things there, some of which worked out alright and some that didn't. That's also why it took a bit longer to finish it than I would have liked. I felt like I learned things though, so it was probably worth it!

One of the things I tried is to add texture to surfaces, particularly to the skin, by using textured brushes and then smudging the result a tiny bit to soften it. If it's too sharp it stands out too much. And that worked out pretty alright I think. It's quite a bit faster than the task I sometimes inflict on myself where I manually painting every little bump.

Recently I've been looking a bunch at Brad Rigney's illustrations, and in his work I really notice how much good lighting matters. It matters so much more than how carefully rendered surfaces are. So I'd really like to become better at lighting my scenes. A part of how he often achieves it is through his use of fog. It's one of those classic 80's movie lighting tricks. So I was inspired to use more fog here too. It's a great tool for controlling values in the background and foreground in a way that allow silhouettes to read well.

I look forward to practicing these things more.

The first doodle this time around is a painting of Flavie, a character from Diablo 2. I've been playing the game a little bit again recently, and felt inspired to do my own kinda horny interpretation of her. ๐Ÿ˜… In the game she's a character you run past and probably won't interact with, but maybe you would stop and hang out if she looked like that, right? ๐Ÿ‘€
I don't do a ton of fan art, but when I do I think it's interesting to do interpretations of characters that don't have many high definition depictions already. So it's particularly fun to do paintings of characters that have mostly been shown through pixel art or low res sprites. It leaves a lot of room for creative interpretations without feeling like I'm deviating too much from the original. I may have touched on that in the past too, back when I drew Rex Vex and Blackjade from Diablo 1.

The second doodle is just a small experiment I did with a past doodle while thinking about how to control my edges when I'm using a bristly brush. The idea there is that it's probably easier to paint the broad shapes and make changes to them if all the edges are loose and kinda blurry. Making corrections doesn't have to be done so carefully, which is faster. And only when everything is in place I'll start sharpening edges, and I'll make those extra sharp edges only where I want your attention.

That's it for now! Thanks for supporting me, everyone! I hope you keep enjoying the stuff I share here. It'll feel good to start a new painting in the next few days. Come watch the live streams sometime if you wanna keep up with that. ๐Ÿ˜„

Yeah you stand to make better pieces with better lighting :D and yeah i can see her expression is a bit nervous i feel that she's enjoying it but she's thinking something like "Oh no, there are a lot more than i though", hahaha which only means more fun for her! And yeah! i love his art, i think under a manga/cartoon style he has some of the best anatomy i have seen, and made me love demon girls, i commissioned him to make my personal demon girl, so every time you draw them i love them haha i just have a soft spot for them and instantly like them.

Tredok

Thank you, I'm glad you like them! I have usually put the external download links in the text there which may have been the ones you were looking for at first, but since Patreon allows much bigger attachment file sizes now I can finally just add all the files in the post's attachments instead, hence the lack of external download links now. I hope it doesn't confuse people too much lol.

Nervous excitement, eh? Well, I'm down with that! Glad to hear that she is enjoying her encounter, bizarre as it may be for her ๐Ÿ˜น

Ciarรกn

Thank you, Griffin! Always glad to hear you're enjoying it. ๐Ÿ˜„

Thank you!

Thanks! They're fun to do. :)

Thanks, Asteria! I'm glad you like that one!

Thank you! I'm always happy that you appreciate the work I put into these pieces, Ciarรกn. And I'm glad to hear you feel like I captured the atmosphere of the environment here, and that you enjoy the characters. I can see how her expression can be interpreted as distress, but nervous excitement is really what I was going for. You can always count on the intention that people in my paintings are having a good time. ๐Ÿ˜„

Thanks Tredok! Yeah, I don't think I do a bad job with lighting either, but I do often catch myself spending more time on rendering surfaces than I would have needed to if my lighting was planned even better. The lighting can ideally do more of the heavy lifting for me in making the illustration look good. Nervous excitement is the expression I was aiming for, she's definitely there by her own will. ๐Ÿ˜„ And I'm glad you like how I draw the cum! I like to draw a lot of it not only because it's fun to look but because it's also a great tool for describing the surface forms. It works out great that way. I checked out Peter Straubel's work just now, it's nice! He's got a fun art style, I can see why you enjoy his stuff. ๐Ÿ‘

Oh nevermind. I found it :)

Simply amazing! I really love those creatures! I can't find the painting process somehow.. ๐Ÿฅด

DORN

Degen goon people are top-tier hotness haha. Sploosh! And the richness of skin, water, light, goo -- just wow, this is top-shelf beautiful as well as top-shelf HOT

Griffin Barrows

Very nice~

Twelve Seal

I love all the diablo paintings I see you do

muike

I love the sketch where you kept the edges loose at the beginning. It really highlights the focal point (and edge control is a really cool skill for painting the I've been trying to improve recently) Love it! <3

Asteria

Wow, this painting is wild! I know we saw the sketch in a previous update but seeing the full thing is a whole new level of crazy ๐Ÿ˜ธ Looking at the whole thing, I really like the atmosphere in this cave, with the heavy fog and many droplets falling from the ceiling. Just looking at the painting, you can really imagine how wet the air feels, so great job on capturing that! I also like the different tones in the background, the twisting rock formations being bathed in a mix of both blue and warm lighting. The contrast there looks very nice and makes those background elements look quite colourful. I also like how the furthest elements recede into silhouettes, as well as the various pink objects that adorn the rocks, adding a nice splash of colour to them. As we go into the foreground, the scene shifts into green tones with the water, as well as the main rocks that the left/central characters are propped up on. Blue greys in the back with hints of warm lighting and then very cool, misty, deep greens in the left foreground all make this scene look very unique, with the mist really adding to the atmosphere. And then we have the characters, despite the "men" all not having full faces and having very similar physiques, you've done a really great job in differentiating all of them, through your use of lighting and colour. The left-most guy is kept largely in shadow, with only hints of warm light hitting his head and arm, which add some great contrast. Likewise, I like the cooler green/blue edge-lighting along his back and down his thigh, which contrasts with the shadows and the warmer tones on his front areas. With the right guy, I absolutely love the detail of how his stomach is being tinted by the skin tones of the lady here. Those skin-tones being bounced onto his body are a great hit of warm colour and contrast really well with the shadows on his torso. I also like the warmer lights hitting him from his left side, as well as the white edge-lights on parts of his body. He's got great contrasts going on, really well done colours and the definition of his body and features are brilliant. The guy under the girl might be my favourite with how much he has going on. Many dark shadows cover him, with warm light bathing his chest and thigh, while his arm recedes into this very cool, green tone. The warm-cool contrast here just looks so good and makes him look so vibrant. And the definition of his body is terrific. I haven't gone into it specifically but as always, the actual rendering, textures, definition, volumes and lighting on all of these guys looks fantastic! It's always so impressive seeing all of it, both in the larger view and in the more minute details when zoomed in. And now, conspicuous by her absence in this comment so far, we come to the lady here and hoo boy... she is vibrant! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ The warmth and vividness of her skin tones are absolutely insane. You look at the painting and she just snatches your attention with these bold, popping colours! Her hot-pink hair definitely grabs the eye too and I do like how distinct her cool, blue eye looks against the warmth of her skin and hair. The rendering and details on her are just stunning too. I love her hair, so much intricate detail and mix of bright lighting and deep shadows that make the individual strands pop. The lighting on her body is beautiful, with warm tones running across the top planes of her breasts, stomach and legs, while dark shadows shroud her sides and undersides. The strong contrast between light and dark does a great job in defining her body. I actually really like her calf, with the volumes of the different shapes/muscles being really well painted and the mix of bright white shine-lines on top, with a warm bounce-light within the shadows making the leg pop and be very vibrant. It's great seeing the various green tones tint her bum and undersides of her legs too, contrasting so well with her skin tones helping further accentuate the shapes of her body there. I also like the hints of green along her back where she lays against her new friend... I hope that they're friends, she seems a little distressed judging by her expression ๐Ÿ˜… Regardless, as with the guy below her, I also like how her arm becomes heavily tinted by the green of the scene as it moves away from the warm light bathing her main body. Also, her breasts are just amazing. The really warm, reddish tint to the shadows on their undersides is so vibrant and appealing. I also like that orange bounce-light on the corner of her right-underboob, making it pop more against the dark shadows beneath it. The bright white lighting on the tops of the breasts make them pop once again and add to that wet-texture that all of the characters have. I'm also a fan of large areolas and she has some really lovely ones ๐Ÿฅฐ Her face is so well painted too. She's incredibly expressive, the shine on her pink-lips looks lovely and I really like that warm, pink make-up on her cheeks. The pink tint to her ear because of her hair is a very fun detail too. Adding to that feeling of the characters being wet, I love the small strands of hair that cling to her forehead. I also really like the various bits of jewellery that she has, makes me wonder who she is and how exactly she wound up in this situation. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing her again... I feel like I say that a lot with the characters you paint but it is true! ๐Ÿ˜น She is lovely and it would be fun to see her in another scenario ๐Ÿฅฐ Great work on this piece! Again, the colours, lighting and atmosphere are brilliantly done. The sheer level of skill you have always blows me away! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Veeeery nice work! I think the lighting in your pieces is good, i don't think you do a bad job,but i guess that you want to make it a bit more dynamic with darker areas or more dramatic lighting, which is an excellent idea it would only make your paintings better! And about the painting itself, it's really good i really like the girl, she seems aroused and worried at the same time, as long as she's not forced to be there it's all gooood! and, this may be a bit too horny of me but, one of the things i really like how you draw is the cum hahaha it's always so much :P and it's always really well done and this one is no exception (i particularly like it when you do facials). And there seems to be some lore to this strange entities, kinda remind me of the slime ladies without nose hahaha i guess they are interesting in a horny way, i wonder if they just are there to fuck anyone who wonders into their domain haha there is some lore to be discovered here. Also as usual the sketches are very nice, the characters are always fun to look at, as i've said before im a sucker for demon girls so i like her a lot, i like the shape of her horns, but the ranger is really well endowed. The artist that made me really take a liking to demon girls also made my profile pic, maybe you would like to check his art too, different art style but still, cute demons! his name is Peter Straubel here and on IG.
