Sketches + time lapse videos!
Added 2025-02-13 16:56:57 +0000 UTCJust wanted to share a couple of sketches and their accompanying time lapse videos here since it's been a little while since the last time I did that. Recently I've been finding inspiration in ideas I've had about these sort of alien looking characters, and trying to find an interesting balance between mysterious and hot, so I'm enjoying exploring that.
I feel like both of the sketches have a potential to be a fun painting, but today I'm slightly leaning towards wanting to see that second one as the next full painting, so that's where I'm gonna head towards.

Nice! The impression I got of the work was that there WAS some kind of lore behind it, albeit perhaps not a uniform one between what appear to be different settings (i.e. the futuristic, possibly cyberpunk ones, the ones that have a standard fantasy appearance like with the guard having a bit of fun on the job thanks to a hedge, and ones that seem almost like they're meant to represent alien worlds due to the palette choices and participants). I knew at least one had some degree of a corruption/transformation theme, given the skin color changes going on with it, but it didn't seem to be an especially common thread in the works. Seeing those sorts of things told me there was definitely SOMETHING underpinning some of these due to the recurring visuals and it left me wondering what that was behind the scenes. I'm more on the opposite side of things from your works in that I focus more on the writing and world-building sides than the art. I don't have the skill for it, though I did make attempts and got a bit of elective study of it in my education.

2025-02-27 04:47:45 +0000 UTCSome of these character types I draw are meant to be a result of old transformation and conjuration magic by a group of people who are no longer around. Exactly what happened to them isn't known, but the stuff they did led to a bunch of different races, like demons for example, as well as these ones here that are more like prototypes, hence the lack of more than the essential features for the purpose they were created for. I'm not a big writer, so I don't have an expansive lore nailed down or anything, but there are bits and pieces like this that I draw inspiration from when I decide on what to paint. :)

2025-02-13 18:25:17 +0000 UTCWell, this is a very pleasant surprise! Both of these sketches are a lot of fun and I like the similarities and differences between them. The similarities being the overall idea, one warm-toned human character surrounded by green, alien friends and an overall cool-toned environment, while also being by the water. In terms of the differences, I like the very different feels that both ideas have because of them. The Luke painting has an overall cooler feel to it and I like the soft green haze to everything, as well as the cool, blue-tinted rim-lighting on the alien girls. The poses for the girls are very sexy too. The one cuddling up to him is particularly nice with the rim-lighting accentuating the shapes of her bum and I like the long, elegant contours of her extended leg. Having her hugging him with her breast pressed against him is also such a fun, sensual detail too. And the two ladies to his righ both have delightful poses, with their arched backs, butts pushed up and breasts teasingly hanging or squished to hide their nipples. I know you said that you're going to go with the other idea for the full painting but if you had picked this one, I definitely wouldn't mind ๐น๐ป As for the other painting and looking at it's differences, it really does have a very different atmosphere, being so much warmer with it's lighting and with the lady's hair, face and chest being absolutely bathed in sunlight. It's also fun seeing the character sexes reversed, with it being a woman now being... serviced by the male aliens. The warmer light and her big smile also heavily contribute to the difference in feeling, where Luke had colder lighting and an expression that's less obviously joyful ๐น (I'm sure he's still having the time of his life though ๐น) But anywho, for sketch #2, the lighting also looks great on the aliens, with the warm lighting hitting them all from one angle and strongly contrasting with the opposing shadows. They're given such great senses of volume and definition. And I also like how you've mixed other colours into their shadows. Most notably, the guy on her left has warmer, reddish tones in his shadows, while the guy on her right has more blue-green tones to him. Definitely makes the whole thing feel so colourful and vibrant. Also, looks like that guy might be caressing her hair and there's just something sweet about that, if that's the case. Might be his curiosity at seeing hair for the first time ๐น And of course, the lady looks terrific, love the vibrant pink hair and the contrasting colours on her skin. The bright, warm colours of her face and breasts are contrasted really well with the green hues mixed into the shadows on her legs. Terrific work on both of these sketches! ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ I didn't even talk about the backgrounds but I really like them too, especially having them be by the water. Will definitely be excited to finished painting, it looks like it should be a tonne of fun!
