Many of you know that the game is quite demanding, which can make it difficult for some people to play it.
I attempted to fix the issue multiple times, but it yielded slight improvement.
Therefore, I had to resort to taking drastic measures.
That's the reason why I'm in the process of recreating the game from a clean project.
I decided that would be the best solution for a couple of reasons.
- First and most importantly, ill have the chance to optimize everything and eliminate any unnecessary code, Improving the performance and lowering the memory and storage requirements in the process.
I'll also have a chance to fix some naughty bugs and change the code to be more independent for better compatibility and possible mod support.
- Second, The game was created in Unreal Engine 4, constantly updated to the newest version, and then moved to Unreal 5, and with each update, there's code that gets deprecated, and sometimes it is tough to spot and replace, which might cause performance issues.
- Third, Clean and organize the project for better workflow and easier porting to other platforms like VR and Mobile
I'm more or less halfway done, and the performance looks excellent so far.
Most importantly, I identified a couple of things that were negatively impacting the performance in a big way.
Now there will be some new things, mainly the Bathroom for the apartment with new animations.
And finally, If I can do it this month, there is a pressing need for an auto-pose feature for the characters to be placed in the sex positions, so there's no need to adjust their locations manually.
