PHOENIXES v14 status report #3

Hi everyone, this is Agang,
I completed all new content for this update (text, renders, and animated scenes) two days ago and sent it to Mintsoda and a few other close friends for review. However, the results of this internal review were not good (The first time, or perhaps the second, in our history). People are dissatisfied with Sorring's new story, and I think they have a good point.

Right now I am reworking Sorring's new story. Approximately 40% of her new content requires a complete rework. I have barely slept since the day before yesterday. I believe we still have a strong chance of releasing the v14 update by early May, or it might take an extra day or two, or three, I don’t know.

Now, I will briefly introduce the problems raised during the internal review:
Sorring's new story in v14 is about the third outbreak of her curse since meeting the MC. With each curse outbreak, she becomes a little more like a true succubus, and in this update, she will fully transform into a true succubus.

In my original design, this full transformation simply made her hornier, sexier to people, more dependent on the MC, and more submissive to him. It was something many people could anticipate, and I didn’t see any issues with it until I was prompted with a question:
Why does her personality remain completely unchanged after becoming a true succubus?

Indeed, this was clearly an oversight of mine. Sorring is one of the characters who has undergone the most significant changes in the story so far (due to her succubuslization problem), yet her personality and her way to interact with others didn’t change at all. This doesn’t sound right and needs correction. I don’t expect her to turn into completely someone else after becoming a succubus, but I believe she could at least have a slightly more complex personality—for example, how about 5% more evil and 5% more… transcendence?

In addition to Sorring’s new story, people also didn't like Alnilam’s new side story. The main issue is that this side story has to take place after Alnilam and the MC establish a romantic relationship (since they were in a cold war beforehand). However, there hasn’t been much follow-up content after they get together, so this side story will only have an opening in v14. It cannot go much further, as it depends on further development of Alnilam’s main storyline to continue. People felt it was pointless to only include the opening of this side story in v14, as it neither delivers exciting adult content nor advances the plot significantly. All it will do is set up an annoying loose end. I think they were right.

Therefore, I have decided not to include Alnilam’s side story in v14. This story will be better integrated into the main storyline in future updates. Some of the renders I prepared for this side story will not go to waste; instead, they will be repurposed with some modifications.
