Catharsis
Added 2024-06-29 18:00:04 +0000 UTCTo round out the month I really wanted to do a piece that went along with the other painted ones I did the last two years. This one is a lot more personal and I don't often draw my 'fursona' or stuff that represents how I feel as much for Patreon.
This year and a half been a roller coaster of feelings for me from getting top surgery to starting T and grappling with the difficulty of coming out to both good and bad reactions, to the state I live in passing some god-awful anti-LGBT+ laws. I wanted to get all the bubbling feelings out in a drawing. I am not sure I captured what I wanted to here but at least there is some catharsis in making art that is just for me, even if it's not utterly perfect, because I'm sure not.

I am very glad that all my friends have been very positive about the experience. Without that things would have been much harder. My family has not surprised me at all with their reactions and it makes me rather glad to be thousands of miles away. I feel a lot better than I have for the last few decades though :3 so it's been wonderful despite some downsides <3

It's a bumpy road, especially when you face rejection from friends and family you used to be close to, but there's always people who will stand by you and eventually you can let go of the bad and just be happy.
