Everyone is doing what they have to in order to protect themselves and their loved ones from ( according to their information) their enemies. According to Wyllie’s information eren is an evil guy who is going to destroy the world. So in order to save himself and his loved ones he has to do anything he can to get rid of the “ evil” And according to eren’s information his enemies want to eradicate his island. So both groups are forced to take action because according to the information they have to work with if they don’t they will be wiped out. So even if eren doesn’t want to destroy this place he is forced to because now the whole world has decided that he is an enemy. And what makes it so hard fir eren and reiner is that they have been to the other side and understand not everyone on the other side is evil. But it’s too far out of their hands to change anything.
