I finally caved and got a membership… #NoRegrets Anyway, I love the episode cause I think Historia is so badass here! One thing I love about AoT is that women are strong! All the female characters have so much depth and dimension, and they’re not stereotyped as weak, dumb and pathetic. Historia obviously would love to have a family and finally have a father, but she doesn’t let that override her judgment, and she doesn’t give up on her beliefs. She won’t abandon her morals just so she can have the family she’s always wanted. How cool! 😁

2025-01-24 17:38:10 +0000 UTCThe reason why Historia said all that and claimed to be the worst girl that's ever lived is because Eren blamed himself for all the suffering the people around him had to endure. He wanted to be eaten to repent for his sins, to which Historia responded with that little speech. She basically told him that what she's doing right now (saving Eren) is like betraying humanity in this context, and that she might as well be way worse a person than he is. It's all just exaggerated nonsense, really, but the the point of it all was just to make Eren feel better, I guess. It's why she plays the part of the villain for a bit. She takes part of the weight Eren has been carrying on his shoulders this whole time, and with it also some of the blame and guilt. Basically, she just tells Eren that he can't be the worst person that's ever lived, because she is :)

It also has the ability to alter memory of people. However, ONLY a person of ROYAL BLOOD can use those powers. Although, Eren has the founder titian, he can't use those powers. However, if Historia or Resis ate Eren, they can use those powers. 2. The holder of the founder titian is worshipped like a God by the Resis family and their other acquaintances because of how powerful it is; the holder can alter anyone's memories and control all titians. But most importantly, they are the only one who knows the entire TRUE history of the civilization. None of the Resis family wants to be control by Titian but when they inherited the founder titian, they get all the memories of past history of humanity and their desire to free humanity from titian ceases. It has occurred for every ritual for past 100 years, they got tired of begging for freedom and just accept it.

Historia said what she said because she didn't want to eat eren anymore after she discovered that her father condoned the ideology of the first king which is to be ruled by the titans. At that moment even if the only way to save humanity still seemed to eat eren, she became against eating eren because she would be perpetuating the cycle of control and suffering imposed by the First King’s will. So instead she said screw humanity in the heat of the moment, those were not really her thoughts just something she bluretted out to shut eren up because she doesn't know yet of another way to save humanity, not continue the cycle and not eat eren at that moment.
