First of all, thank you so much for your comments under the last post😭💕
Sooo...
Okay. Lately I've got some pastels to try. I wanted to tell you about it, but got blown away with work stuff and anxiety so I didn't hahaha sorry!
It's my first time drawing with pastels, I only used some soft pastels before to draw dolls make up. I'm not very good at it, so please bear with me 😂
I'd say, it's a great stress reliever for me! Since it's a new material and I'm a noob in it, I don't feel the pressure of doing a good job and just let it flow as it goes. Even though my work is drawing, you may think it's weird to relieve stress from drawing by drawing but somehow it works!
These two pieces I did last night at 2-3 a.m. after of a day of full art block. I planned to work, to do some sketches, but I wasn't able to even move my hands. And somehow I found myself drawing my girls in the middle of the night. It was a really nice feeling, even tho it's not a very good job done, but that's the point!
So far I've tried both oil and soft pastels. I like the process with soft pastels more, I think, because it's easier to apply, layer and mix them, but it6hard to store the pieces, since it's super easy to ruin the pastel layers just by touching it and the fixation spray makes it look not like pastels (so what's the point?🙄) Oil pastels are quite easy to store, eve tho you still can get your hands a bit dirty, but it doesn't ruin that much. But it's harder to use. So that's a big dilemma what to choose😂😂
But anyway, I think it's just a little anti stress thing for me (and a great one!), not a tool for work, because I'm married with watercolors hahaha
