Another note kira wouldnt ever make a broadcast willingly he wants to appear as a god making broadcast makes him seem like a terrorist or dictator and even though light is that. He wants to seem like a god of righteous judgement the second kira is nothing but a pale image of the first.

Kira usually kills hardened criminals up until this point. It makes a point of saying Kiras first kill was the guy who took kids hostage and that was the least serious crime kira punished.

2024-09-13 15:59:45 +0000 UTC35:50 he doesn't agree with kira here he just points out there's a clear ideological difference kira up to now killed criminals - even small time criminals which is morally questionable but fit his personal standard - and people actively fighting against him second kira killed people who merely spoke out against him thats a pretty sudden change in standards then again kira up to now has gradually loewred his standards of who he will kill from active hostage taker to caught cirminals to fbi agents to purse snatchers so this could just as well continue that trend

2024-09-13 15:56:44 +0000 UTCturnign in people to kira could absolutely turn into a witch hunt like state though I mean the police ALREADY HAS THE TECHNICAL ABILITY TO KILL PEOPLE thats not something only kira can do the difference is that the police has to follow laws and due process and find evidence and wait for a fair trial exactly to avoid a witch hutn state where if you don't like someone you can jsut say "he did evil somehow idk" and they die
