2024-10-07 16:35:59 +0000 UTC29:20 its okay as an inciting incident but not to resolve the story if hte story is fundamentally about someone who wins the lottery and how they develop as a person after that and its very clear that thats what a story is about and the little bit before that happens is just character backstory thats alright, thats what the story is about if a story ends with someone winning hte ltotery and all their problems being solved when you were hoping for an interesting story thats disappointing

2024-09-13 14:18:30 +0000 UTCI'd argue that babies aren't evil cause they don't really have a full understanding of the world yet they can't have any regard for other people because they do not fully comprehend that other people exist they can see other humans around but tehy can't understand that those are thinking feeling agents just like themselves and having no regards for other people because you don't know other people in that sense exist isn't evil not caring about someone who doesn't exist isn't evil and acting badly because you didn't know something baout hte world isn't evil if I revealed to you that I rigged your keyboard and everytime you pressed the "a" key someone in an undergorund dungeon you didn't know about got executed that wouldn't retroactively make you evil it would make whoever rigged your keyboard evil
