I completely agree that it is too convenient. Death note is a good show and such little flaws becomes more noticeable and annoying :)

He probably thinks Kira is going to use the list to kill them later. Raye actually says, "He shouldn't be able to kill with just a name" as a justification for him giving in and writing the names down.

2024-08-25 00:43:47 +0000 UTCDeathnote is one of my favorite shows, but I do agree him running into her exactly at that time does feel a little toooo convenient! My copium is that Light does specifically volunteer to take his dads clothes there so that his odds go up of catching something like this, and he does admit he’s extremely lucky with his, “looks like a god is on my side” line. Definitely copium though, Light rolled a Luck 100. Edit: If I was the author, I would have had Light show up first, say he’ll wait in the Lobby till his dad returns, and have him pull out a book to read in the meantime. Then have her show up an hour later and him overhear it. Would make the whole situation much more believable
