I haven't finished the video, but in case it's not explained later, the text that L was reading in Japanese said, "L, do you know...". But it's also worth mentioning that it wasn't explicitly spelled out, that message was written using the first letter of each line.

2024-08-27 04:26:47 +0000 UTCinteresting question what the "half of his remianing life" is defined by because that is influenced by future courses of evnets which may dependo n wether he has the shinigami eyes or not so he knows if he can't find a way out of htis situation wihtout the eyes he's screwed if he doesn't take the deal and he cannot find a way out of the surveillance without being caught and executed he dies if he takes the deal then he may have shinigami eyes but by definiteion lives only half as long as in the first scenario so if there's no way to get out of that situation without hte shinigami eyes he dies even quicker if he can find a way out of the situation without hte shinigami eyes then he can live longer wihtout htem and would needlessly give away half his life if he takes them

Anyways I think its obvious after watching episode 5 why he did not kill him here and it's great that SWS is questioning his actions here because it shows that lights mind is more complex and he actually puts some thought into his plans.

2024-08-23 22:38:58 +0000 UTChe cant use him to shot Ray becouse he doesnt know Ray name. He cant make him shot someone for no reason. And he cant manipulated Ray actions into giving the criminal a reason to shot him, becouse he doesnt know his name or how he looks like.
