Yeah, season 2 is just amazing. I really don’t think it would’ve hit half as hard without season 1 though. Knowing the person Thorfinn was, how stubbornly he refused to change, makes his actual growth so much more rewarding.

2024-07-26 09:58:54 +0000 UTCSomething that always gets me in a story is seeing the power of friendship to change a person. Not in a tropey way, but in a real life, slow and messy but beautiful way. I adore the genuineness of Einar's friendship toward Thorfinn, in spite of what he's been through. It's that experience of friendship that begins to change Thorfinn. It is genuinely inspiring to me because I know people like Thorfinn. People who have beaten down by the world and they don't have the strength or vision for life left to pick themselves up by. They need an Einar, and I need to believe that companionship can still make a difference no matter how deep into depression people have fallen.
