Eren telling Reiner they're the same. What a full circle moment for both of them, and it's true in so many ways. But I think Eren's wrong. Reiner, while still responsible, acted in a lot of ignorance. The current version of him that understands, regrets it to the point that if he could go back, I think would make different choices. Eren here understands everything. He understands exactly the full extent of the pain his actions will unleash because he himself has experienced. He understands that the people here are also just people. He's making his decisions knowing exactly what he's doing and that's another degree of terrifying beyond Reiner.

Michael Uebele

36:30 he's just the same because he's old :P not sure about his exact age but like 40 to 44 is much less notable change than 15 to 19

I love Galliard's reaction at the end. "Why aren't you afraid of us? Can't you see I'm a titan?" Marley's people can't fathom losing. They have an ultra-nationalist viewpoint and priorly unshakeable faith their titans would always win by default. After all who could beat a titan? Who isn't afraid of titans? But Marley fucked up. They didn't execute prisoners they turned them into titans. There is basically zero reason to do this other than just to be evil and petty. They sent these titans in to Paradis. The Paradis people got used to it, and now you have an entire military force of people who are not afraid of Marley's main weapons and are specifically trained to fight them due to more than a century of combat and technology adaptions. There are metaphors in here for both arms races and how in the cycle of violence you end up creating your own enemies.

Hmm, I don’t know if it’s okay to say this when it gets revealed in the anime itself in a couple eps. Might be better to delete this imo, since SWS is pretty spoiler averse.

"Who is this? I don't know that one" Think back to season one. She's connected to Mikasa in a way.

Absolutely loved this reaction! Knew you’d of course understand the insane complexity the author starts presenting us with in this episode. What will your mind do when your favorite characters you’ve been with for 3 seasons start a terrorist attack? Such difficult questions one must wrestle with

The curse of 2AM strikes again! Just wanted to say this was a wonderful analysis as usual, and maybe add a couple notes. 1 - The first thing Mikasa says is "Eren, Please, come home" you missed it due to badly timed pauses and turns to camera. No way you could have known, but I feel like this really shows where Mikasa is at emotionally from the moment she sees him. 2 - Galiard should/could have gotten some good info from Ymir's memories, but in an earlier episode he makes a comment that seems to indicate he didn't get as much from her as he expected and that he somewhat despised her. It makes me wonder if that is somehow related to the fact that she killed his brother and that is making it hard for him to connect with her.

Probably a good place to point out that Gabi's design is based on a genderbent Eren. The parallels are everywhere in this show.

If you don't know or recognize some people because time skip you will know it in next episodes

puremetalcore

Jean called him "Floch" in his first line, the person you thought was Floch-- you just missed the subtitle.

Levi Showcases once again why he's Humanities Strongest Soldier. Also when Floch was trying to convince everyone to choose erwin over armin saying that that they need a devil to save them (referring to erwin) and now he's referring to eren as "Our Devil" is such a nice touch. Floch went from a scared dude that won't sacrifice his life for his country to a man ready to commit war crimes to ensure that the peoples life in the suicide charge isn't wasted well on his mind at least he probably think that.

you are spoiling us! you made my day.
