Frieren 1x08

Wow, this was so awesome to watch, confirmation-bias might have hit me sometimes, though... =D

One cool little detail: upon killing Draht, Frieren says, “That’s one down,” and uses the word “ippiki,” which is the Japanese word for “small animal.” lol

Russell Gambardella

Frohes Neues! =D Yeah, the way him being ignored pushed him was really well done. =) I looked up the Japanese title and it is indeed something like "Funeral March of Frieren", which is really interesting. =) Also funny that they used it with a little twist for her "demon name". =D Just recorded 9 to 11 yesterday, should be up by tomorrow (I hope).

I'm really looking forward to the next episode analysis.

Yes, Frieren must be really strong, can't wait to see! =) Also, I have atheory about Flamme, but I wil discuss that later as I have to think about more. I think it is not solely because of her mana or something like that that the spell lasted so long. =)

It's insane to think how powerful Flamme must have been. Qual as a reference point was considered one of the most magically gifted Demons and he created new magics with no weaknesses - it took 80 years to overcome and defeat that magic. Flamme's magic is roughly a thousand years old now and there's still no one that can come close to the spells she cast back then; in spite of all the advancements in magic, the training everyone has had, the fact that some demons are now hundreds of years old and Flamme was a human and restricted to learning on a human timescale. Flamme truly was the legendary mage.

One thing I realized watching this reaction just now is that while Stark has the demeanor of a kind and scared rabbit most of the time, he still has the pride of a warrior in his heart. Like he felt insulted by Lügner that he wouldn't take him seriously as a threat. Also: Lügner called Frieren by her title "Sousou no Frieren" which got translated as Frieren the Slayer. But Sousou no Frieren is also the Title of the Anime itself which shows the huge space for Interpretation in the japanese Language. Sousou[葬送] means literally a funeral march which can be translated then in the Title as "Frieren After Journeys End (of Himmel, Meaning after his Funeral) and for her title given by the Demons "the Slayer" Because she send so many of them on their last Journey Can't wait for your reaction to the next episode :) Also: Guten Rutsch
