I've been thinking about changing my style completely and out of the blue lately.

Now, see, this would have been better if I had posted it on Saturday because the 28th was Mexican April fools.

Oh well.

But I have been actually playing a bit with styles and my lately, just for fun. In fact, If anything I've been trying to play a bit in my old style.

I'm trying to go for a more detailed, in some cases more anatomically correct type of style.

Taking something from what could be called the more “generic” furry art style. Which is a word I don't really like here cause it kind of implies it is a bad style and I don't believe that. But you get what I mean. I didn't ot that far tbf cause I still want them to be recognizable.

By the end of this I wanna make portraits for at least The members of the band in this style. Just for fun as always.

Kinda like the album cover for Gorillaz's Humanz where they put realistic 3d interpretations of what the characters would look like as real people (Probably my least favorite Gorillaz album cover btw but I appreciate the idea lol) but of course I'm not going that far. That would mean going full Lion King Trash Remake and nobody would like that.

I started with Lil because either she and Tony have the more cartoony designs of the group and I already had an idea of what to do with her. Tony is going to be a fun challenge though.

Happy New Year!!!... In a day…

It's indeed rather jarring to see the usually big-eyed cartoony cute cat Lil in this more "generic" realistic furry style, though not unprecedented, both because I still remember that old-style pic and because she more recently was drawn in a similar style whilst 'bonding' with a certain special someone... ;) And it's not so jarring that it looks creepy or uncanny valley or anything, in fact I look forward to seeing how the other bandmembers look in this style, especially the equally big-eyed cartoony cute birb Tony. :D

I love the style! Lil looks like she is older in this one, maybe late 20s

I think this goes near the "cursed" threshold... But I think I could grow fond of it lol. Jokes aside, I am familiar with how your old style looked like and I really like it, it seemed more "realistic", like in Zootopia or Sing. But one thing I like about your current style is the "cartoony realism" you have, a perfect balance between cartoon and realistic features. Something I don't see in any other furry artist and that makes you stand out from the "generic" lol
