Migration

[Edited: Chenged a bit the lighting. The original was a bit too dark]

Edited 2: Minor changes

Or

Carnival of LightS B side

AKA: Winter Spirit Migration.

Also, How’s this for Slice of Life? I mean, for them it kind of is.

Just a chill night camping with your friends to see something cool like a star rain or the old forest spirits migrating somewhere else so winter can truly begin.

And the good news is that Vero knows someone who let them use one of the watchtowers in the forest so they have a cool place to stay and from where to see the lights.

One of the cool things about this piece is that it comes with it's own soundtrack song picked by me (Oh what a surprise… It's a Genesis one) thought if you think you'd enjoy this piece with a different soundtrack, be my guest. I'm this is a choose your own adventure in that sense.

This piece and the last WornDown Children one have been given (by me) the subtitle Carnival of lights which is a reference to the lost Beatles song that, from what I've heard, would not make a good match for these, (though who knows…) I was just thinking of that title because of the emphasis I'm making on lights on these two.

So the Whisperers are having a fun chill night. And I consider this a splice of life piece for them because I promise, for once, nothing bad will happen tonight.

But not everything is fun and laughter. While he's having fun, I think we just got Ignacio having a sad thought, mainly. He’s wishing Donnie was here.

Donnie had a compromise somewhere else anyway tonight so that made things easier for Ignacio but still.

SeeHad Donnie came he would either, not be able to see anything, or he would see the spirits, but he would see every other type of supernatural thing and there would be no turning back.

Ignacio wishes to keep Donnie in the Dark about Ghosts and ghouls and 95% of the time that seems like a good idea, but sometimes it means they can't share the genuinely cool things.

I've had a doodle for this piece for a couple of months now, so I've known what I wanted for a new year piece since then, though now I think It could also work as a solstice thing. I'm trying to decide because I also think the Band’s van animation could work as a New Year's piece.

I'm also attaching the original sketch because I found it charming.

Speaking of, there's also an alternative version of this pic that I hope I can share soon but not at the moment sadly.

This concept is inspired by the Lightning ball phenomenon of which I first heard about from a teacher of mine who had a story from where he was with the boys outs and went on camping. He and some of the kids were chased by a couple of them and had to run up a hill. Or at least that what he says happened.

I managed to make the lights effect pointing a flashlight to a paper sheet and taking a photo from behind. Plus some editing of course.

The good thing is I finished this right before this cold rendered me useless for a couple of days "Cough Cough" I said while wwritting this... Anyway...

Happy New Year!… in a month…

I at least hope they can eventually become a full-fledged paranormal couple like Nicole and Ian, if not also like Vero and [redacted]. X3

I'm sure they'll get to share some cool spooky things eventually. I mean, maybe lol

No surprise that the Whisperer's holiday pic is a very beautiful atmospheric scene with supernatural elements, even if they're not in any danger for a change! And playing the song while looking at it definitely makes it even more atmospheric, this Genesis music is the perfect choice for it. ^_^ I do feel a bit bad for Ignacio though, hopefully he'll be able to enjoy such things with Donnie in the future, that's something I have my fingers crossed for. ;)

They actually have a bunch, Not a big bunch but yeah. There's actually like 3 instrumental songs in that album alone lol I also tought of Fading Lights but one feels too final. more for a Finale than a Slice of Life thing

I checked the song you linked here and... You're absolutely right... It really does add a certain atmosphere to it, didn't knew Genesis made an instrumental song, learned something new today ^^! And also, watching the winter lights is kinda a vibe on itself... I don't want to be corny or anything, but it looks like it would be a very wonderful experience for Nicole and Ian, like for the couple in the movie "Empire of Light" lol
