On Tour!

The band is going on tour, guys! Nothing big, just a couple of cities, but still, they’re all very excited. Some a little bit more than others, like Zara for example who has been awake all night and requested to drive for a bit on the last gas stop, after waking up so early RJ could actually use a little bit of rest and they’re on the highway after all, so “why not” he thought, and let her sit on the driver’s seat for a while, much to the chagrin of him and the other band mates who until now were taking a really nice nap.

A little bit of an oldish piece. I have a bad habit of waiting too long to post something, but recently I did something similar to a direct sequel… or prequel? To this one. So I guessed it was a good moment to finally post it.

So, I like to think of this one as the first on a non official ongoing series of pictures of the band "on the road" some of these pictures you have already seen like the Beach episodes for example. And there's some others I have yet to post. And that's why I'm saying it's an unofficial series because I have already messed up the order. But still, if I were ever to release some kind of art book or something of the sort, these could be it. Some pictures of the plans visiting places and having gigs around the place.

I like to think this begins a little bit early on "the band's cannon". Everyone in the band is single at the time of this exact picture. So we all can have a lot of fun on this trip lol. Who knows, I may expand the lore a bit with this.

The background in this piece is heavily based on the Tláhuac-Chalco highway that is the one I usually have to take when going out of the city. So that's what the beginning of a road trip looks like in my mind.

You can see the city far behind them at this point, and another way of showing they're exiting their home town is noticing as they drive by the last "Yes Coyote" tag they'll see in a while. (Or is it?)

This picture appeared in my mind first when I had the idea of Zara being a really wild driver. I wanted a fun way for the rest of the band mates to discover that as well.

The model of van they're driving here is a Toyota Hiace 1989. Even though I often change RJ's van's model, it's always supposed to be the same one. It's like a running gag I think. A bit inspired by a story I heard once, about how in the Scooby Doo Movies they used different models of vehicles for the mystery machine cause, depending on the angle it was shot one model could feel more like the mystery machine than others. I don't know if that story is true but I like to think it is.

The 3d model I used as reference here was bought from 3d artist vav206g. It’s one I use pretty often, but I have plans to buy another one soon.
