nakratos, a new OC

I miss working with Draenei. The last project I've done anything with them was #68 (which you can find here on my Patreon, in case you didn't know).
Unfortunately, I really don't think #68 did Draenei (or Night Elves for that matter) justice. It's just a rather flawed project in many ways. It's also over two years old now, so I'm really due for another project with Draenei. One that will hopefully do a much better job of showing off their sex appeal. And I think this new OC will deliver.
This new model combines assets from both regular/LF goats (gonna be calling them goats from here on). Unfortunately, I last exported these assets from WMV back in June, so this was before SL dropped. I don't anticipate it being too difficult to integrate the new SL assets in, but that's not a priority for me atm.
And not all assets are easily interchangeable between the two goat flavors. Let me go over some of the changes I've made:
- That's a LF goat horn style on a regular goat's body. Atm, LF goat textures are rather monochromatic; in various shades of white, white, and more white. This makes colorizing them rather difficult for an amateur hobbyist like myself. So the horns will never "attach" properly to the body; there's a noticeable seam at where they connect. I can mask the seam as best as I can in post-production. I don't think this will be much of an issue, truthfully. I suspect many people wouldn't even notice there might be a seam, if I didn't tell them explicitly.
- He doesn't have a "painted on" eyebrow like a regular goat, but has black LF eyebrows instead. The same issues with the horns are present; you have to try to colorize those monochromatic hair textures. And it's not quite as simple as painting a black layer on the textures. At least not for me, cuz I'm not a professional. But, I did end up with two clever solutions for his eyebrows.
- His eyes are golden. This is mostly just for flavor/worldbuilding purposes. A blue goat with golden eyes just stands out better from the rest. And fascinatingly enough, you can't choose alternative eye colors for goats in SL.
- Lots of scars and facial hair on his face. Just a lot of custom texture work here. I really love the facial hair. I decided to just paint it on rather than use something 3D cuz I prefer this look.
- Scars on his body. Again, mostly for flavor. For many months I was stumped with this OC because I didn't know how many scars I wanted. But when I came back to him, I just decided to keep it simple.
There are a lot of morphs on the model of course. As always, they're 100% modular. The most notable ones are:
- My goats have always had very slightly bigger heads, about 10%. This is something I've been doing since 2015, actually. I always thought it helped balance how wide their bodies are.
- Boobalicious-style chest. I applied what I learned from morphing Kokrak here, and I gotta say, it works just as well.
I haven't gotten around to giving this goat a "fat" morph yet. I think i'll cross that bridge once I get there.
The name is based off a friend's warrior goat. Story wise, I view Nak as being a quintessential "daddy" figure. He is indeed a father to another one of my goat OCs actually, and that's an idea I've already explored in my personal worldbuilding in a rather twisted way. I'll let you speculate. He's very much an "alpha" goat and is brimming with intoxicating masculine energy. Basically, imagine your average male Orc, but in goat form. That's Nak in a nutshell. I'll be sure to try and convey that once I use him for real in a future project.
