This project was from Sept. 2018. That was the worst month in my life so far because of some major personal tragedies, which delayed this project, but the commissioner was very understanding considering the circumstances. Anyways.
When you compare this project to the one immediately preceding it (#68 - idle mouths), I think you can see there's a clear uptick in quality with things like lighting and framing. Very moody, rather evocative, but otherwise simple in execution. There's no "hardcore" sex or eroticism going on here. Of course, there are obligatory versions with an erect penis, but I always thought those actually hurt the tone of the image.
The version with the underwear certainly respects the tone a lot better. However, that was a much later addition to the project long after it was originally completed (7 months later to be exact), and it was just a low-resolution re-render. I rendered that version out for a specific purpose at the time, and had no reason to distribute that particular version, but I might as well do it now since I like it.
Since I don't write accompanying erotica for my projects (yet), I always try to have my pictures tell you a story. Your interpretations are required, of course, and I do the best I can to help guide you along that path. Once again, I could tell you the "story" that me and the commissioner were discussing as we were coming up with ideas for this project, but I think I'll keep that to myself. I've always been a firm believer of having others come to their own conclusions with the story.
But, while I'm on that topic, there's something that bothers me about this project. I feel like I may have added a little too much to the foreground. To the point where it starts to look visually cluttered, and there's not enough negative space. In general, I'm definitely guilty of adding too much detail to the fore/backgrounds of my projects, but I think I've been getting better with keeping that impulse in check. And that's the only "issue" I have with this project, really. Everything else about it is still quite stellar imo, and it definitely set a new standard amongst my projects.
