That's more or less the idea. It's kind of a spiritual sequel of a piece I did on october of 2020 wich closed my Inktober that year. On that piece the members of the band appear next to the van and wearing fancy clothes around a fire place. So this started as a sort of informal version of that Picture.
I don't remember very well how I came up with the idea of having them occupying so little space on the actual space, but it's supposed to give the feeling of being out of town at the road at night. This portays the band chilling after a concert they drove to the text town to be in, and on their way home celebrating for What they consider to be a succesful night.
The set was inspired by two places.
I worked on this during one of the heviest parts of the pandemic. Back then me and my family adopted this habit of going to walk at night. Our route included walking around a college close to our house and over a hill. By this point the school had been closed for months. Still the caretakers of the buildings and estructures had kept the place clean and the lights on all night. But after so much time they eventually gave up and turned off the lights.
The whole street got darker, and being over a hill this just helped to emphazise the light of the city bellow and far away.
The other place was the Federal Highway Mexico-Cuautla. That's the Highway I used when I went with my College friends in a little trip out of town. That was one of the last trips I went in right before the Pandemic started and the world was closed down.
